Mungo National Park

Returning from Flinders Ranges trip we took a side trip to Mungo National Park and saw its great beauty at sunset.

Gday...

Great shots. Mungo is one of those places where the photo opportunities are endless - from sunrise, throughout the day and again at sunset/evening. I have been there three times, camping for a week each time, at differing times of the year - I still love staring and marvelling at the photos I took. It is almost impossible to take a bad photo there, such is the scenery.

I was a little surprised to see "people walking on the dunes". I had heard that they had stopped people leaving the boardwalk - unless on a guided tour.

Which reminds me, I also heard the 'self-drive tour' around the lunette/s had also been closed due to flood damage that they have not been able to repair. Is it open also? or still closed? cry

Cheers - John

A friend of mine did the tour around Mungo two weeks ago (September 2012) and it was open to vehicle traffic and you are able to walk around.

Must get there one day. One good thing about out west are the beautiful sunsets.
