Eventually left Townsville on Monday afternoon and apart from being very tired due to a late Sunday night finishing everything off, had a trouble free trip to Belyando where I spent the night in the C
P there. Tuesday was disastrous. The reversing camera monitor packed up (it is new), then the tacho in the truck gave up the ghost, so spent Tuesday morning trying to find an auto electrician in Emerald to look at the monitor. No luck after seeing 4 different places. OK, forget that for now. Off to Isuzu agent to check out the tacho problem. They put a young fella on it straight away bless them. It was eventually decided it was just the sensor. No great drama just get it fixed when I get home. The young guy even checked out all the wiring and fuses for the monitor. Couldn't, find any problem there so it had to be a faulty monitor. Off to Jaycar to buy a new monitor. Plugged it in and it worked straight away (phew what a relief). Too late to leave Emerald after that so trotted off to the free camp and just happened to park next door to Plodnalong (Andy). After a happy hour or three, it was quick tea (BB on toast ) and off to bed. Said goodbye to Andy and left Emerald at about 7.00 am Wednesday morning. Made it to St George (about 500 k) yesterday. Left St George this morning at 6.00 am and am now about 60 k north of Coonabarabran. Had to stop about 2.30 because it was extremely windy and Winnie was being blown all over the place. Hopefully the wind will have dropped by tomorrow morning.
Well that's my journey to date, fingers crossed I will get the rest of the way without further problems.
Cheers!
Chris

GR, 0530 is the best time of the day, start out early and you can stop about 1400 and enjoy yourself, if you do leave early watch out for kanga's as the may still be on their way home to bed.
OK, Jules, I'll be the bunny, what did you do to the bed?
Welll - I ended up in the luggage compartment - the bracing that holds the framework for the bed got broken somehow - now no naughty comments!!!!!!!!! It is the most flimsy thing you have ever seen to hold a bed as well as people - ridiculous - looks like 3 ply - anyway off to see about getting it fixed on Monday, at present bed is held up by 9kg gas bottles with a piece of wood on top!!
