Australia comprises a land area of about 7.692 million square kilometres. Although this is just five per cent of the world's land mass (149.45 million square kilometres), Australia is the planet's sixth largest country after Russia, Canada, China, the United States of America and Brazil. It is also the only one of the largest six nations that is completely surrounded by water.
I'm doing my best. A couple days home and celebrating eldest daughter's 40th birthday, then wind down at "special friend's" house. Home tomorrow to catch up with the real world. But I'm doing my best to do it all with the time I have.

I spend six months in the US and six in Australia each year, as to which is the best, the simple answer is both are great countries to travel in.
The US has it over Aus for being much cheaper, the roads are far superior the natural resources. Aussie has it for just the sheer remoteness, getting away from it all the best beaches.
Not putting the US down - but sometimes people do not realise how big this country is - for instance there is a water catchment area near Winton that is THREE TIMES THE SIZE OF ENGLAND!!!!! shows as a very small part of Qld on the map.
There is also a postcard available showing an outline of Australia superimposed over Europe - most of WA doesn't even come into the equation.

The lack of knowledge of anything outside of the US can be frustrating when talking to Americans. Their health system sucks but try telling an American that. The olympics coverage in the US was totally US centred
Canadians are far more worldly wise, they can also pick up on a down under accent.
