Menindee Lakes freecamp

About 120 km south of Broken Hill are the beautiful Menindee Lakes. We have just free camped there for five days. Great spot with great scenery, amazing birdlife and sunsets like this. More photos and blog at this site.

Definitely a place on my must return list. Amazing how the lake gives sunset photos double value isn't it. Also got some moody shots of the moon reflecting off the lake. Regards, Ken

Gday...

Lurvely place - including Kinchega Nat PK.

When we were there in 2010 it was the first time Lake Menindee had water for 11 years.

Cheers - John

Certainly is John. Lakes have been at 110 per cent capacity and water is currently being released to accommodate new water coming from the north. Enjoyed our visit to the Woolshed at Kinchega where an excellent amenities block with hot showers can be enjoyed for a gold coin donation. Apart from a shingle back lizard and a couple of roos there was little obvious wildlife in the park. Large number of emus between Broken Hill and Menindee meant constantly being on the lookout - but well worth it. Regards, Ken

Yep, I've been there and took a gorgeous photo of the lake. Well worth the trip out there for sure.
Here is the photo I took 2 years ago. 10March 2010

I will try this again and try and attach the photo I took at Menindee Lakes back in March 2010. Our first trip with our camper.

I was up there in June and it was fabulous. Didn't get to camp there that trip but will return and do so hopefully next year.
Beautiful photos.
