Progress....Maybe

Well after more than 6m0nths  of ups and downs,, physio that exacerbated the problems, cortisone injections that failed, numerous cat scans, mri's and tracers, bone scans and discograms, I am now just 11 days from a definitve decision on further treatment for my back.Possibly a fusion at L5/ S1, although a recent unexplained absence of nerve pain is a positive development...I think. I have bought another rig and am planning my next little oddessy to give a little positivity to the next 11 days.

Thanks Beth. Rig is pretty good, just transferring solar panels, batteries and controllers over from the Nissan.Just hoping whatever treatment is decided upon that it happens soon. Getting rather bored after being "grounded" for 6 months

Hope all goes well with your back...not a nice thing. How do you go with the lifting and stretching in your "transferring?

thats the easy part! My mates come around and all I do is get the stubbies. Seriously, I am very careful and mindful of my limitations and my friends are great guys and gals

I think a lot of us OLD folk are in the same boat. I went for another massage yesterday. My lower back was so sore it burnt when doing simple things like washing dishes or brushing teeth. I am not supposed to lift anything heavier than a 2 litre milk bottle anyway so have to be very careful. Live on Panadol Osteo in the hope it will take some pain away.

Up to about four  weeks ago I was having trouble staying on my feet long enough to make a cup of tea or shower. Heaps of degeneration at L5 was pressuring nerves and causing severe pain but in the last 2 weeks has really subsided. Most of the damage is from various injuries over the years and age related degeneration and arthritis.   Bugger growing old, but it is catching up with me

I also have lower back problems and arthritis, in some of my joints. I have found a Great Pain DR here in Perth while on our travel and he has given me facet Joint Injections Into my low back and they were a life saver to me as my  sciatic pain has eased, thats just the worst pain ever..Over the last few treatments the Dr has me up and walking again and there is a procedure he can do is to burn the nerve in lower back which does leave ou pain free for up to 2 years as nerves do grow back..I am a nurse so i have looked into all the treatments and i just feel great now..
