Anybody see the show on Tele last night, about those ''sick bastards'' that let there Pigdogs totrure and rip apart, the Wild pigs, while they Video it and then share the video's on you tube 1t was shocking to watch, those pigs suffered a long and painful death being ripped apart
I understand that Feral pigs are vermin and need to be culled. However Every animal deserves a quick and Humane death, and to hear the commentry of the people videoing the antics just shows what sick bastards they are ??? And I find it very hard to believe, that people that have such a sick outlook on such a cruel act are Licenced to have a gun, sick people should not have guns
I am not a woos !! In my early days i have been pigshooting myself, but not with dogs, I shot 3 but they were put out of misery as soon as possible, I did not really enjoy it and have not done it since, But the people i seen on tv last night should not be allowed to own a fire-arm
yes mate.. I saw that too ! Like you, I too have done things in the past that I now regret. I've learned from that and hopefully a better person for the experience .. but not all accept responsibility for their actions of the past. We are all different .. thats a good thing though!
Absolutely disgusted! Is the RSPCA doing something about this?
I certainly hope so. I switched channels when I saw what the show was about. Hopefully they will be taken to court over their actions and receive very substantial penalties. They should also have their pig shooters or firearm licences revoked.
Thanks for the repliies, gertydancer and jonathon,
It does not seem to be getting the coverage it should ?? when i have my new computor up and running tonight, I intend to send Emails to 3AW melb and the rspca and maybe even the state goverment firearm license, Dept
ANY HUMAN BEING ?? Who watched that show would be absolutely disgusted, at the Extreme bloodthirsty cruelty NO ONE, that can get enjoyment from watching and doing such barbaric acts, is of sound mind?? and hence SHOULD NOT be allowed to be in charge of a firearm ??
Sorry for the ''rant'' but if people accept this as ''normal'' well may the Heavens help us all ?? Dazren
I did not see the T.V. segment but the biggest problem is that there has never been a serious penalty for animal cruelty I believe that anybody found guilty of this type of behaviour should face penalties that would make them think twice before acting this way again,
How about 500 hours work at an animal shelter plus a $20000.00 fine and any gun or hunting licence revoked for life.

I didnt watch the whole show... too squeemish. Thats why I asked about the RSPCA, thought they would have interviewed somebody from there on the show about this.
Where was the pig shooting? Even commercial pig shooters do it quick and clean. "Game" does not mean to play "a game". Cruelty certainly comes into it. On tonight's news I learned it's an offence to desecrate the carcass of a dead whale as it decomposes on the beach. It's too big to move, and it's very difficult terrain. I don't know which state, but some youths filmed themselves crawling all over it and then posted it on social media.

PIONEER VALLEY pig hunter Paul McFarlane is outraged by what he says was the misrepresentation of a charity event by the ABC's 7.30.
On Tuesday night, the current affairs show featured images and interviews from Pinnacle's pig-hunting 'Dog a Hog' competition, followed by video sourced from Youtube showing appalling images of people using dogs to maul and attack pigs in cages.
Mr McFarlane said the show failed to make a distinction between the activities of responsible, humane pig hunters at Pinnacle and the inhumane hunting practised by a minority.
"I was just really disappointed," Mr McFarlane said.
"(The event) was a very positive day for the area, we raised $5500 for the school, but there was no mention of that.
"Overall, the footage of our day was okay.
"But the footage they dug up on Youtube, I don't condone it in any way, they tied it in with our event." ... The 7.30 journalists did not respond to the Mercury's requests for an interview.
No, Gerty, the RSPCA did not make an appearance. Probably they were not asked. The 7.30 Report used to be a good current affairs show for intelligent viewers. It's now rapidly becoming a sad parody of the bogan-focused commercial current affairs rubbish, with silly, short segments about meaningless topics.
Come back Kerry O'Brien, you were so much better than She Fails.
Cheers, Tony

Yet the ABC has a show that criticises other media sources for their alleged reporting misdemeanours. What is sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander. Maybe all is fair when the ABC wants to give a free kick to certain political interests.
I agree with you JohnQ, I have no qualms about Ligitimate Hunters, hunting and Culling, The wild pig population, They are Vermin, and cause a lot of damage and destruction that city people would not be aware of.
I also agree with your comments about the 7-30 report, AND THE REST OF THOSE CURRENT AFFAIR PROGRAMS. They all put truth to the saying ?
Do Not let the FACTS get in the way, of a good story. My original outburst of anger was not at the Legitimate pig hunters. But at the fact that the people in the video, have that sick and demented mindset, Yet they are allowed to have and train savage dogs, and worse still they are deemed fit to hold firearm licenses for very powerful weapons

thoses current affairs programs are c r a p, I switched over last night and one was just ending and she was saying 'we conntacted the government and asked do these poms who get aussie citizenship then go back to the UK qualify for a pension here in aus as well as the UK, we received a reply saying yes they do' and they left it at that, they should have gone on to say whatever they get from Aust is adjusted in their UK pension the same as poms here get, it is adjusted.
Instead as you say don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
