We have been amazed at how many different caravan makes there are on the road. We have counted over 70. The latest one was a brand new 'Diamond' from Victoria.

We have a Viscount. What do you have?
Sorry neilnruth, I'm one of those black sheep with a motorhome. Winnebago on an Isuzu 250 NPR cab chassis. In my defence, I once had a Viscount 16 footer but can't recall the model (cost damn all as it was in a rough condition). It was second hand when I got it some 25 years ago. I found out that I couldn't tow the 21 foot yacht and the caravan at the same time for some reason. I gave the c'van away to a colleague about 20 years ago. I've since got the MH to tow the boat with. I've probably cluttered my life with 'things' and should really have a clear out and start from scratch.
Just bought an 85 Chesney. Very retro but heaps of space for just the one. Nice and light but I'll do things electrical with it. Lots of ways of skinning that same cat, eh?

I can't remember seeing a Chesney for some time. Yet they used to be a big name in c/vans before all these 'Joe Munch' unknown brands came along. Did you say you were going to turn a cat into a light fitting?
I have a MH, Hino Rainbow but did have a Viscount many years ago as a family van. Had many good trips but usually for model flying (Planes you dirty buggers, plus my luck is not that good)
Had to let it go when I let the wife go so in many ways a good deal.
Regards brian

I am also a "black sheep" with a Winnebago on an Isuzu NPR250. almost finished updating it. Took her out last weekend for the first time in two years. Was great to have the wheels turning again.
I suppose I'm a traitor to all things Oz with our imported American Foretravel motorhome but we did start off 18 years ago in a 16th. ft poptop Viscount. Eventually changed to a new Phoenix off road caravan & now the motorhome. I've been happy travelling in all three
We have just acquired an old 18ft Viscount. We're in the process of refurbishing. Won't be long now and we'll be hitting the road again. This one has had a toilet and shower added so will be great not having to put the toilet and shower tent up and going out in the cold.
When I counted the number of caravan makes I should have added that I included motorhomes, camper trailers and 5th wheelers. We're all one happy family on the road after all. Interesting to hear of so many older vans that we have but most of the list included all the new makes and there are so many of them.
2009 Imperial 17 foot pop top, previously 1999 15 foot Millard Weekender, previously 1980 Viscount pop top. The first was a Coleman Camper. I think there was another somewhere in there too.
We have a second hand 2006 Roadstar, 22 ft as it had the layout we were looking for as it's home for at least the next 6 years as we tour Australia. A few little mods and it works for us.

Jayco Destiny Outback 15ft 2010 pop-top, but other half now wants a bigger van with toilet, shower and washer machine, so we will now have a 19.6ft Star craft full van which we pickup in a few days time. Will be living in it full time for a couple of years so gotta keep her happy...
I have a bushwacker caravan. Works for me. I see many fancy looking rigs on the road today, some of the seem to have a little bit too much bling for me, the shielas like em, but bling worries me. By my way of thinking, the more you bolt on to the box the more that can fall off.
Hear, hear!! Saw another new make today. Bushmaster. Have seen Bushtracker and Trackmaster - but not Bushmaster before. It was being pulled by a what looked like a work truck - so maybe it was being delivered. Just checked them out - they have 2 models - Redgum and Bluegum - made in Campbellfield Vic.
I am lead to believe that there are approx 52 caravan brands currently being manufactured in the Campbellfield area of Melbourne. There are others brands coming out of other areas of Melbourne and Victoria.
The New Age seems to be popular, and the Pt. Wakefield agent seems to do very well. I have a 20ft, 1998 Roma. I love the layout. It took me 18 months are hard slog to find the van with the layout for the $'s I had to spend. A bit of sikaflex and I'm a happy camper. I bought Roma on ebay, then closed my account.
