Ilfracombe Caravan Park .

We are at the Ilfracombe CP at the moment .

$27 / night . 2 people . The atmosphere is fantastic . Very well run park . Happy hour every in the camp kitchen every night with a huge fire to keep everyone warm .

Nibblies supplied BYO drinks . The owners both do bush poetry , as well as comedian stuff . Very funny , very clever .

Park clean , amenities good .

We don't stay in CPs much , but are staying here another night , and will come back .

Plenty to see here too . Old farm and road machinery museum , and other museum type places . Hot spa as well .

Good pub with great tucker .

If you are ever in the area , don't drive straight through . Stop , and check it out .

Totally agree. A very popular park. Spa is lovely and easy access.

We had the park, spa and pool all to ourselves when we were there and not that far out of Longreach.

Ilfracombe is only twenty minutes from Longreach so maybe suitable as a base for the area.

Longreach has the excellent Qantas Founders Museum and the world class Stockmans Hall of Fame. A little further away in the opposite direction at "Barky" (Barcaldine) is the Workers Heritage Centre, worth a visit regardless of one's political inclination.

Can't agree more biggrin it is a great little park and the proprietors are truly funny with their comedic skits.  When we were there in July a lovely lady I think her name was Shirley was also singing old favourites like Patsy Cline - fabulous voice.  Would definately go back again and certainly recommend it to all.
