We're at Home Hill today, gradually crawling north. If anyone sees our rig, knock on door. Tea/coffee only takes a cuppla minutes to make.

We are on our north, not breaking any records at the moment, just taking our time. Heading for Cooktown, maybe another get together ??.

Will be in the Caliope area 25/5.

Hi there John ..

Mareeba is just up the hill, about 70 k's (tablelands) from Cairns ..

If you get the chance to do drop in here, would be good to meet you. Its quite likely there will be a few other GN's around at the time too ..

Jon

 You are not referring to the Alligator Ck camp ground in Bowling Green Bay National Park  are you?

Edit, I have just looked at their site http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/bowling-green-bay/camping.html It says "Alligator Creek camping area is suitable for tents and small campervans only. Each camp site has a vehicle bay for reversing into (surrounded by bollards) and a separate area to set up a tent. Caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes will not fit into the vehicle bays and are not allowed in this camping area."

Iwas there last year, in a ute with slide on, and it was great , except for some hoons who started to fight amongst themselves, and were given an offer they couldn,t refuse.Great swimming and walking,would be better with a caretaker or ranger.About 20 klms south of Townsville.Didn,t think of caravans . Sorry.

I saw this elsewhere about a Hot Air Baloon landing at a camping spot at Mareeba would be a bit of a pleasant surprise (unless they landed on you, he he) see;
