School Hols Accom

Doug,

don't wait for a reply, buisness these days do not make reply calls, the amount of money they save by doing this is a great saving for them, they take the attitude that if you want to contact them you will ring back without them ringing you and paying for another call, if they do this enough times they save a big amount on phone calls, and with the cost involved you cannot blame them trying to cut cost's.

Has anybody else noticed this practice?

Hi all,

My boss offered me a week off, wow! So due to it being school hols I rang one of my favourite places in down town Lakes Entrance at 4pm Yesterday to see if I could get in Mon-Thurs this week, no one there, so left a message with dates etc and no return call.

Why don't people return calls?

I'm a little disappointed as I don't get offered a week off that often, I hope I get a return call this morning sometime, still I will be heading to Townsville 22-27 April so looking forward to seeing My daughter and her family and my new grandson and some people from here all going well.

If you are in Lakes let me know and if I make it there we might be able to catch up.

We/I have been going there for years wombat and know the owner reasonably well by now but I'm pretty sure your comment is 100% correct. She usually returns calls though. She has until 4.00pm today, that will be 24 hours then. I will not ring back as I can do something else thats been on the back burner for some time now. That money can be spent in Townsville now.

I usually fly to Townsville 3-4 times a year to see my Daughter and her family.

I have been to Imax 3 times and love it. I love the one in Melbourne too but the one in Townsville is better me thinks.

Just looooove the strand too.

I will be there 22-27 April if anyone is in that area, already going to make contact with a GN from here. I think Bill12 up that way too?

Doug, find somewhere to free camp, why pay to go into a park. You are all fitted out for free camping now, go for it. I'm parked on the side of the road just norht of Parkes tonight with a group of truckies.
You could always go up to Greens, all the Nomads have left now unfortunately.

Hi Marj,

I'm not driving to Townsville, that trip is cancelled for the time being, I thought I'd mentioned that already, might have had another seniors moment though, I only have a week in April so will be flying up and back. This week was an offer from the boss so didn't say no. I need to get the gas system in the tug serviced so won't take the camper out til that's done.

I spose you will be playing cricket in 'The Dish" (Telescope) with those truckies while in Parks. biggrinbiggrin

You are having a seniors moment Doug. I'm talking about this week the boss has given you off, just drive somewhere and free camp. Get out there and enjoy it. But I see now you are saying work to be done on the camper, thats a shame.
No not going to the Dish this time, went there a couple of years ago.

You are not wrong Beth. I am getting worried actually, I might have a chat to my Doctor when next there. If I don't write it down I forget it and it's not getting any better. Maybe my grandchildren fix in a few weeks will make me better.

I put a band aid on my arm thinking that might fix it but it didn't. The kids say a band aid fixes all. biggrin

Nope, didn't work. Just got into trouble from my youngest daughter for not telling her my mother in-law was in hospital. I think I might write my home address on a piece of paper and put in my wallet in case I forget where I live.

I thought I might put a band aid on my mouth but then how would I talk on here.

I heard that, someone said quick, put it on.

I'd be in a right old mess without my lists. Shopping lists, reminders in my mobile phone, list beside the laptop for Lulu, a list in my handbag of what I have to do while I'm out...

Shall I go on?!

I have a notepad and pen next to the bed so if I think of anything during the night I make a note of it.

I wonder what will happen if we forget to write a note? We might have to write a note to write a note.

Post it notes are good too.

You got it Doug. I carry note pads and biros in every bag. I don't do the bedside anymore, but I used to. Remnants of my journo days I suppose.
I also carry a memo tape recorder in the car so I can tell myself things I want to remember or write about later.
Nothing wrong with any of these things. As we get older the "fuller" our heads get. We're storing at least 60 years of life and experiences in there. It's getting a bit squeazy so only the important things get priority in the space department.
As an aside, I have been reading about fish oil. Apparently more is not better. Less is best. It's claimed too much can affect muscles and tendons making them weaker, and also affects the brain's capacity and efficiency.
So if you're hogging the fish oil, maybe now is the time to cut back.
Enjoy your time off.

That's interesting Chris. I only have 2 a day, but was told I could have up to 6. Mind you, this was from my sil who is an alcoholic, so it's not going to do him any good however much he takes.

I also tale Q10, which is supposed to be good for the heart and blood ciruculation so I reckon should be good for the brain too.
