Thinking of driving from Grafton to Coffs Harbour by the inland route through Kungala and Glenreigh.
Has anyone driven this way and knows what the road is like, 20ft van GU petrol Patrol
HI GS, all the posts are valid, but I like the "backroad"to Coffs, very scenic countryside and less traffic. I would only add wildlife depending on time of day.
We always take that route over recent years, road is fully sealed and as said there is one low level bridge which might be a hassle if very wet. A few nice free camps along the way and is an excellent alternative to the main highway at present as they are building a new section of highway north of Coffs which can be very slow and is speed limited to 60kph.
We were up that way in mid January, fine weather on the way up,but heavy rain coming home and no problems, just follow the signs when coming into Coffs and when back at the highway turn right at the lights to travel south.
Safe journey...Cheers Frank

Check for update on floods in that area. I think I saw that Coutts Crossing was flooded in the last few days. Someone with local knowledge may be able to shed more light on this.
