Travelling Pacific Drive

Hi I am travelling from Newcastle to Wollongong and assessing my options as to route.  Can anyone advise if Pacific Drive via the Royal National Park is caravan friendly.  I have a Navara towing a 22 foot van.

Gday...

It's been a couple of years since I drove from Sydney to The Gong via Royal National Park and down the Pacific Drive.

From memory the drive would be no problem for a van. The road through Royal Nat Park is typical - sealed the whole way, two lane, no real hills, lovely scenery and of course once you get south of the Royal you get to drive out over the sea.

Cheers

John

Have not done the national park bit , but have come in from cambletown yo Stanwell tops & down to the coast, very scenic & a little windy but no probs.

Welcome Navaraal. Nice to see you here on The Grey Nomads Forum. I hope you enjoy your stay.
Maybe you could bring us up to date on your travels and your travel plans.
We like to share.

when travelling through be careful as the road is regularly used by motor bikers and have had experience with them cutting corners through the windy sections but it is a rather beautiful drive

Keep the winds in mind. If there is a decent blow on your chosen day of travel it will take more care on your part. Otherwise a good scenic trip to do.

Thanks everybody will check the weather forecast closer to the event before making final decision. Might be better for a day trip back up from Wollongong without the van if weather is an issue.
