Older vans

Would be interesting to see how many members are travelling in older vans, say pre 1990. Photos would be great as well. Also anyone who has renovated their older van.

Sorry wrong topic, will repost

I'm still using my 1982 Hi Lite. Some years ago had an engineer give it a 2"lift under the springs ,so sits level when behind the Landrover. This old van has covered some 60,000 ks of outback including the rail track from Tom Price to Dampier and the punishing Tanami road.Sensible speeds and reduced tyre pressures will see you getthere without damage. It's not flash but it's functional.I still hook it up behind the landrover and know it will be happily behind me till the trip is over.Maintenance of wheel bearings, overrun brake adjustment correct tyre pressures etc keep me still enjoying my travels in this $2k van

I'll add my 1970 Viscount 15'er to this.
It was the kids spare room, now with very little work it will be our first traveller.
This is my pet for now wink

Tractor and trailer.pngHere is my first old van with underweight tug. Pilots used to get lost after taking reference of it for the flight back ,over the desert, thinking it was a house, whilst I would have been away working. Suppose they could not see the wheels! When they come back it was gone.
