Hi Pete I will be taking my 2 dogs to Tassie. I haven't checked out the cost yet but you have to book a crate on the ferry or the plane and also have a current vaccination certificate. I plan to go in Feb 2013 a long time away. Someone on here will be able to give you the website for all the requirements. Your dog is very handsome.
I hope to be in Tassie in late Dec to do the Antique fair in Hobart and will stay until it cools down on the main land might catch you there, will stay in touch through the forum ( I have a thing about old Mrs Slocum )
Hah - Mrs Slocum was never old. And the delightful Molly Sugden is a great loss rip. It is in my great masterplan to spend every Feb- April in Tassie and who knows maybe one day the fares will be cheaper.
Spent 10 days touring Tassie a few years ago with my ex, she was a get there person, I just like to travel at a pace to take in all the sites sounds and tastes.
My favourite spot was Boat Harbour a lovely small bay on the north coast wanted to spend the night there camped on the beach and wake up to a great sunrise but was urged to go on. Next time it will be at my own pace just me and my dog Gracie and she dont care where she is as long as she is with me
Dogs are great companions they ask for nothing except love and food.
Gracie is a very energetic dog she runs at a million miles an hour and never gets tired, a few of my friends have lost dogs to snakes and ticks so I do have a bit of a worry going bush with her, I may have to stick to the coast she loves the surf my only worry then would be salties up north qld.
i have sourced a pet insurance for her Real insurance for up to $10,000 for $514 a year Premium, $437 Standard, $217 Accident but this is based on the age of the dog of course Gracie is only 3 years old
When we leave home, Melbourne Suburbs, and travel even well away from the coast in the Eastern States (including Victoria) we dose our little fella (a Pug) each fortnight. He is done monthly at home with Advantix as we have no cats.
