Compliments of the season's to all. I have a Navan My 75T and can't seem to input GPS co-ordinates, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yeh wombat I down loaded the manual from their website and nothing seems to be in that either. I was talking to a neighbour earlier today and he has the model before mine and said he can input so after xmas we will check it out. Not happy Jan. Hopefully someone will have the same one and come up with a solution. Have a good one my friend.

if you have only just brought it go back and ask if you can change it for the one you want, did you want to do some geocaching?

Hi mate, I had same model, purchased Oct 2010, $400.00 JB hi fi.

Yes, I could choose co ordinates with touch screen menu and it worked fine until we arrived in Devonport where it promptly died. Lost everything and nothing could be retrieved. JB were good and promptly replaced unit with same model only for same thing to happen again. JB gave cash refund without hassle.( it proved that arriving in Devonport wont kill your gps!biggrin)

I alway take care that unit is unplugged when starting car, but for some reason that model has issue's.

Summing up, I see no reason why you shouldnt be able to choose your co ordinates.

cheers,

ozi2

ps: Personally I couldnt bring myself to buy this brand again with any confidence when there are gps's avail with lifetime maps for half the price.

I got this second hand and is as new condition so I can't go back to the shop, first time I got anything second hand, could be the last too. I might be doing something wrong when inputting so will see what the neighbour comes up with I spose.

Just getting the feel for it wombat, never used one before, even though 3 buses/coaches at work have them, I always hope to get lost as then I don't have to go back to work. Trouble is the passengers usually pick me up on it.

Page 10 of the manual (page 28 of the PDF file) tells you how to "search for a location using a GPS coordinate":

PROBLEM SOLVED. It was such a nice night here in down town Wonthaggi (sth west gippsland vic) that I took myself and the Navman outside with a drink and sat and played around with gps co-orinates and found that I wasn't inputting correctly, once I worked that out it all started to go right for me. I might mark it down to have had a seniors moment. Thanks to you all for your help.

PS. I think the scotch might have helped a bit.

haha, looks like you got it sorted OK Dougwe, I only just saw the post. I was going to ask what format you were using to enter coordinates? I have used that function myself to input coordinates of campsites etc.

G'day Bob, I just had to sit down quietly and muck around with it a bit, all seems ok with it now. Oh, I turn my UHF off when around busy towns and especially in Cities, too many morons on it otherwise. Have a great 2012.
