NSW Weather and Floods

Has anyone any further updates on the floods through the centre of NSW? Any idea of which roads are closed now and did the heavy rain today cause any more damage?

Lorraine (JazzinAround) is camped just west of Forbes resting up after getting a chest infection. She has to get over to the coast then up to Caloundra by mid Dec. Not sure which way she should go as a lot of the roads are reported to be closed with flooding.

She was going to go north on the Newell then across through Tamworth but that road was closed the other day.

Thats the way she was hoping to go lilly, Coona to Tamworth. It was closed the other day. Wonder if todays rain will bring the water levels up again.
She said the only weather she seems to get on TV up there is Sydney weather but nothing more inland, I will let her know if I found anything more up to date.

Hundreds of farms and rural properties remain isolated across the region after days of heavy rain, with relief efforts set to continue for several days.

Emergency Services Minister Michael Gallacher on Thursday extended the natural disaster zones to take in Gunnedah, Narrabri, Gwydir, Muswellbrook, Liverpool Plains, Tamworth and the Upper Hunter Shire councils.

This brings the total number of affected areas to 10.

"The natural disaster declarations for these areas activates a number of assistance schemes for home, land and business owners under the NSW Disaster Assistance Arrangements," Mr Gallacher said in a statement.

The shires of Moree Plains, Armidale Dumaresq and Inverell were declared natural disaster zones earlier this week, with entire parts of Moree and Wee Waa remaining underwater after downpours caused rivers to burst their banks
