Our Coaster


For those that are interested We thought we would tell what we have done to our bus if it helps someone,1992 toyota coaster 20 seat bus, seats gutted out ,across the bus queen bed with custom built inner spring matteress at the back built high enough for storage underneath, all framework for bed frame, kitchen and cupboards is 50mm by 3mm aluminium angle mig welded together then clad with 3mm 3ply,shower recess was built from 6mm marine ply then fibreclothed with west system epoxy resin. Bus is 240volt powered for living area by a 6000watt inverter combi unit with four 120ah deep cycle batteries,these can be charged by the 240 input socket on the outside of the bus and while we are driving a sterling AB charger which is connected to the altenator charges them up as we are driving along,hot water is supplied via a duetto hot water 12/240volt sealed unit,we also run a microwave oven a small 240v oven 2 burner hotplate as well as 2 butane gas camp stoves.Fridge/freezer is a 146litre 12volt unit.Lighting is all Led.Seating up front is two V70 Volvo seats the toyota ones didnt cut it.Up on the roof is an aircommand reverse cycle airco.A full length Dometic awning,Two 80 litre under floor water tanks with a shurflo pressure pump also 60 litre grey water tank.Our two week honeymoon trip to Victoria which was the bus's maiden voyage was a great sucess

Nice job. Are you members of CMCA? Good rates on insurance apparently not to mention high quality months magazine as part of the membership package among other things (eg: Wanderer's mate - free camping guide, Geo Wiki etc). .
