EXCESS OF TOMATOES

Scored a couple of boxes of tomatoes on thursday. $2.00 a box.

From Mal Melningas vege shop here in brisbane.  Meadowbrook

 

Put them in pressure cooker, to get the skins off.

Put them thru the blender.

Then added vinegar, sugar, curry powder, garlic, sea salt, and mustard.

Put on the boil again, steralised some jars, poured in with funnel, sealed.

Make about 11 jars.  Not bad for $2.00

 I didn't know Mal had a shop at Meadowbrook Lynette. I only knew of the one at Waterford. I'll have to check it out.

I just took the skins off and froze them and put some in sandwiches bags to use in soup, curry's, and pizza.and stews

Just made 6 lt of sauce with excess tomatoes and 4 lt container of bread and butter cucumbers from the garden. So gooood.
