biggrin You are the only one it has to please, so if it does what you want you are all biggrinbiggrinbiggrin grins. Hope it lasts forever for you.

I did a similar thing bought a knock off Honda from China 2.6kva with electric start which works great and as it is an inverter type can be used for all things. It was checked by my son who is a sparky and used what I think is called an oscillator and he said it is spot on so I'm very happy as it runs the van air con and all the other bits if need be. However I must admit the solar  we have makes the Genny only required for the air con and when we have a couple of days without old sol.

We also used it continously on a local farm for more than 8 hrs to power Drills and an electric jack hammer. Plus a fridge that held the days wages.wink

Cheers Dodg.

Jimbo, if your snoring is anything like John's at the moment (he has a cold) then your genny will be loud enough to be heard across the other side of the lake!

 A Collingwood fan being objectionable.

Never!   biggrin

Good luck with the gennie though - we carried one around for a couple of years and never needed to use it so it got dumped back in the shed. Perhaps you'll find the same.

By the way - I'm a dyed in the wool Cats fan who thoroughly enjoyed this year's Grand final!  smile

Hey Jimbo, I'm bringing my fishing rod, but have only ever fished around the NSW coast- where do I get worms? I'm great with prawns and green weed, but have never used worms.

Suppose I need a license too?

G'day jimbo ... I bought a Kipor about 9 months ago, I'm very happy with it. I bought a GS2600 and it's easy to start. We take it out bush with us and it has limitations though.  I find in will not run the heater on the reverse cycle, microwave and the electric kettle. The tank of fuel lasts about 4 hours. I find that's ok to charge and run the rest of what we need.

What I think the problem could be is the things that are running in the background, water heater and battery recharge. I might be wrong on that, it may it might be a bit small.

Cheers

Alby

I have also got a honda ebay copy. Branded 2.5 kva but probable realisticly 2 kva. can be a dog to start but we may have found the solution, that is to pull the cord until it comes to comression stroke, let the cord recoil and then give it a good pull and it seems to start. I paid about $500 for it and it worked for a few days over chrismas and has now got about 30hrs
cheers

Hello all
My kipor 2000 karked it when I wanted to use it on our 1st trip, it was second hand but not used very much, so Jimbo I have some spare parts as it is partly dismantled. let me knoow and I will bring it to greens lake
I purchased a 1.5 kva generator on ebay for a buy now priice of $299 and altho it works I have not had the need to use it, so instead of spending thousands on a generator check out the cheaper brands as they are all fairly good, especially if only used rarely
