Saying hi from RBT

confuse Saying hi from RBT , just looking around for a while before we start posting.  We have had our ex Police RBT unit since about 2005 and it has remained mostly dormant except for its annual inspection which it passes with flying colours. We were based in ipswich for the last 30 years but have relocated to the Warwick area with my wifes job. 

Some of you may know us from the CMCA forum that we left a couple of years ago when there were a lot of personality conflicts, dont know what it is like now..

Welcome back RBT.
Greens lake is on the Midland Highway near Corop in Vic. The get together is supposed to be the 1st weekend in November, but some are already there and the party is on already. Whether on not they need a booze bus, I leave to your own discretion, but you are certainly welcome.

I contacted them and they say that they welcome caravans as associate members, with all benifits and priveleges as full members, but cant vote in elections.

I am going to join as an associate member as they have a great insurance deal.

 Personaly I found a better deal for myself somewhere else starting with A , my dealings with their "partner" company just for renewal was something of a nightmare from my experience only, each to their own  . The magazine was just full of adds and even after complaining about one of their advertisers they still let him advertise with the same misinformation and the forum got to the stage of have the F word dropped regulary so at that stage I decided to leave. Dont know what it is like now.

No better now Alan. Rejoined to vote this year and get a LNT sticker for new bus but not next year.

Forum is all on high technical stuff.

I have been involved in a new style of battery installation and the person who started the research and was prepared to give the information away on both the other forums was hounded to the point that we have decide to just continue with our own research, our own way and the experts can buy their own batteries and find out themselves.

I find this forum the best of the three even though there might not be the traffic, the content etc on travelling is a lot more and better quality. I am more into camp sites, where to go, what to see etc not whether this or that is .05% better than the other etc.

Any way get in and enjoy.

Welcome rbt. They are a funny lot here, but wait till you meet them in person. You will be surprised!
No need for the booze bus at Greens Lake yet. I have just arrived home after a few days there. Can't get too tipsy on a cuppa tea.
There are only a couple left there tonight and maybe nobody if billeeeee decides to go for a wander at the weekend. But a lot heading back there next week.

I can't speak for the CMCA mob, but on this forum camper trailer campers are just as welcome as everybody else. Heck, they even allow camper vans here.
Everyone has something to contribute. We all have travelling in common. Even planning to travel is accepted here.
What we choose to do it with and sleep in is up to the individual.
So you fit right in from my perspective.
Jeez, you don't even have to be grey. I've met total baldies and all hair colours along the way.

 My understanding is that the CMCA insurance scheme for Motorhomes and Campervans/Whizbangs is very good and is the major reason for their large membership.

I believe that with respect to Associate Members, Caravanners, both the Vehicle and the Caravan must be insured through their broker which some have found not to be as attractive as their current arrangements with separate covers for their van and vehicle.

Look into it closely.
