Bowen for next two months

Hello fellow travellers.  We are in Bowen now, Mr D is working, so I am in need of some companionship.  Any travellers planing a stop-over in Bowen, I am up for a cuppa and cake.  Will be here till Mid December.  PM me if you would like to meet.

Enjoy Dunmowin.....I really like it there, especially at Horseshoe Bay and the little cafe there. I believe they have done some work on the foreshore near the harbour, how does it look? Hope the weather stays nice for you..........cheers Bronnie smile

Thanks Bronnie, The foreshore is beautiful, plenty of grassy bbq areas, a skate park and nice walking track along the water front. Need now is the block behind where the movie was filmed. The weather yesterday/today is not the best, rained yesterday, and blew a gale into the night and again today.
Sitting here with my knitting and reading, hoping the sun will come out

I'd be interested in your comments re the various parks in the area as I may stop in for a few days on my annual northerly migration next year. The "Harbour Lights" seems to have the advantage of being in walking distance to the various watering holes and eateries.

Definately Jimricho, while not the "pick of the bunch" but price wise, they are all on a par. The Harbour Lights is definately the best with the advantage of being in walking distance to everything, including supermarket, pubs, banks, post office, parks etc - and they are dog friendly.
Two of the local parks are on the highway, and others are away from the centre of town (i.e. the harbour) on the other beaches, which, while they are nice, are away from the centre of Bowen - which is Front Beach (the harbour)

Thanks DM. I stayed at one of the parks out on the highway last year. Not impressed with that one, but I'm not judging other parks or Bowen generally on the that basis. (I was just passing through so it was for one night only and they had drive throughs.)
