I've been fooling around with tilt shift photography and this is where the photo is altered to appear to be miniatures.  Have a look and tell me what you think

Hi Gary ..

I've had a look at Wikipedia which gave me a fairly good intro to it. I suppose if one is using TS for the purposes of centering the focus of the viewer to a specific area of the pic, then the natural response would be to view the area in focus .. Then there's also specific lenses that aid in the overall process too.

yes .. its interesting .. I think I would need to be far more involved with photography to really appreciate the full benefit that is available .. never mind mate .. I'm surprised though that some of the resident shutter-bugs haven't responded ..

Like the first 2 the best. Having visited the model shop with the grandkids yesterday, I can really see the difference. Have never heard of this effect before. The one from Anzac Hill is interesting with knowing the area fairly well. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

They've worked out well Dunco, did you make your own unit up or is it a bought unit?

Jonathan if you want to get more of an idea look it up on U-Tube, there is a lot of example plus how to make a unit to fit your camera...

Thanks Gubby.   I did them via my photo software....Adobe Lightroom.

 

I also just found an app that does it for you on the iPhone... biggrin

Have a look at this, it's tilt shift photography done in time lapse.

The creator is Keith Loutit and there is six in the series called "Bathtub".

He created his own lens by putting a piece of tube between the camera and lense and then tilted the lens slightly to get the effect.

You will have seen parts of these in TV ads.  I was always going to have a go at making a lens, but never got around to it, that might be lucky now as you don't need one to get the effect.

Nope, I dont use it... might have to go look it up now ..... I use photoshop for my scrap kits I make tho.. love them styles appart from that I either crop or lighten if needed for photo's... I use an SLR camera, my first was a film one but the digital is sooooo much easier!!!!

 Haven't used Gimp for years, did not know it could now do so much, but as I have used PSP for years I'll stick with it for now, but Gimp is very good for a freebie
