Lyn - I think that was Brians idea of a joke - your reply was maybe a bit harsh, in my opinion - but anyway, what is the Dukkan Diet? Is it a food combination thing - interested to find out -

Well, Lyn I just googled dukan - seems it is eating more natural foods - the website I went to wanted me to join up to find out more, but I wasn't prepared to do that - let us know if you try it, and what your results are.

I am not harsh, its like this, people dish out I dish back.
Dukkan eating is working really well, I have lost 3 kilos this week.
It is the cheapest eating regime I have ever been on, and you get to eat real food.
There are other websites on dukkan that requires no signing up or expense, but I guess with any change of diet, if one is on meds or whatever they would have to check with their health practitioner . Thanks for replying.
Isnt human nature a mass of contradictions, for some health issues are serious, others could not care a toss. As some of you have said wouldn't it be boring that we were all the same. What offends someone may not offend someone else. It would be an ideal world if we could all cut everyone some slack. But its not. In the last year I have met the good, the bad and the ugly. At times hung on to the cliff by my fingernails. Death of three close relatives, Grandmother, Mother and sisterinlaw. The nurse who was looking after mum stole her jewellery (true story). Howard has had bowel cancer, we had a vehicle accident in the middle of nowhere, (NT). Our dog died. Our eldest son has joined a cult and wont communicate with us. Our youngest son and partner having a baby this month, she is 10 years than him and from Chile. Phew. So there is bound to be a reaction when you post a serious question about health and get such a dumb answer.
I apologise for not being perfect, or not seeing the funny side.
I have learnt this last year, to not hold back, and be free to express myself,
its so much better than bottling everything up and shoving it down, but I try not to be unkind, or judgemental.
Jeez you have had a rough trot, nobody is perfect in this less than perfect world, all any of us can do is our best, hope things start to look up for you sooner rather than later.
Have a good cry Lynette, it does tend to make us feel better to get it out then, BREATHE, everyone has problems in this life I think women tend to do what you did we bottle it all up. In another life I was a made a widow at 21 with 2 little kids and the one thing I learnt was that no matter what happens to us the sun will come up tomorrow without fail, but I do know that sometimes we just need to know that someone is listening, as my Mum is always saying, my pain is my pain. Cheer up people really do care.
You have had a tough time lately - but what's doesn't kill us, makes us stronger they say. At times like this we are very vulnerable, and have a lot of self doubt - I know that over the last two years I take offence more easily, feel hurt more easily, and don't roll with the punches as easily, as I used to when I had the support of my darling love. But, I am getting there - I am having a great life at the moment - have some wonderful friends - who support me and care for me - and love me no matter what (I hope!) - I have my lovely daughter nearby and my four grandsons - who make life a pleasure.
So stay strong Lynette - sounds like the Dukkan is right for yo - that is an amazing weight loss in such a short time! Keep up the good work - and keep us posted.

Don't know about the dukkan diet, but a present I am on the vodka diet, have to drink a minimum of 1/2 a bottle a day, I am going well and get through a bottle or so a day.
The diet is working really well for me, I have lost about 12 days in the last month

I dont suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
You are a scary little man, obviously the vodka is doing you well, your complexion looks lovely, do you use nivea by any chance, I am a soap and water girl myself. Id say you are onto a good thing with the vodka, keep it up. On the subject of looking good etc, may I make a wee suggestion, perhaps a lovely red scarf would compliment your avatar, it would match your eyes, remember less is more. Anymore tips greatly appreciated.
Remember all us girls need all the help we can get.
On a lighter note, I am making bags out of old bras. True story.
I personally am over "diets". I'm sick of being overweight, but the only person who can fix it is me, although I fear there may be an underlying health thing happening in there somewhere. We just don't know enough about this bag of bones we sit in, until something malfunctions and we suffer the affects. If medical science is on top of the matter, the faulty body part is removed and either goes in the bin or it goes to medical science. The problem with any of these diets or meal replacements is we lose weight beautifully, and when we go back to normal eating, we gain the weight we lost and then some. You, Animal Carer have had more than your share of heart ache and misery. Our ability to cope with trauma and sadness depends on our own internal strength. No one can know exactly how you feel at any one time. Only you know, and only you can deal with it in your own way, and only you can determine how you will come out the other end. You are lucky you have a support network to ease the burden. I suspect copious quantities of tea have been consumed. You will be stronger when the pain stops.
