Bars Blacked out.

Can any-one explain why my tool-bars are Blacked out please ?   Some-one said my Monitor might be on the way out, but I'm using a replacement at the moment, and the same thing is happening.  See top of Pic.

Thanks,

Cheers,

Sheba.

I've never seen that happen before Sheba. Hopefully wombat will come on and advise. He's very good with computers. There's got to be a "Light up toolbars" button somewhere, although the very top one, the address bar is normal.

That's what I've been hoping would happen Marj.   I've looked every-where I can think of, but can't find out what I should be doing.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I'm wondering if you might find it in the toolbars under tools. I've looked and can't see what I'm looking for. I realise you can't see tools but if you click just to the left of the blue questionmark ? on the bottom toolbar, on the right, then go down to toolbars, there just might be something there.

I've checked out both Tools drop-boxes Marj, and I can't see what to do.   I tried clicking on something different, and lost one of the Bars, so that wasn't the right thing.

I did get it back again, but I don't know what else to do.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Once you got into Toolbars did you go into Customize?. I have been in but not sure what you would do either.

Hi Sheba,

Have you tried Googling "why is my toolbar blacked out"?

I just did that and it came up with several options that may be of help.

I didn't copy any of the answers for you, as I don't know which system you are running. Might be worth a look.

Cheers.

Thanks Travel Bug.   I haven't tried that yet, but I will when I get off here.

Cheers,

Sheba.  [ And I'm the one always telling people to "just Google it".]

Problem seems to be fixed thanks TB.  Only trouble is, I'm not exactly sure how I did it.   I've saved the relevant Page though, just in case I need it again some-time.

Cheers,

Sheba.

We are all fine thanks Bill. Myrtle goes back in next Tuesday for her service to make sure all working okay after her operation. Slowly getting the inhouse in order. Just about to get a smart charger and gauge to be attached to my inhouse battery. Thats next week. Then after that will be getting a new awning and zip walls.
Me? Yep, the antidepressants have kicked in, feeling great, haha!!

Travel Bug put me onto those last night Wombat.   I've had to go back to the Control Panel again tonight, and then to Display, and take it from there.   Got it fixed again now, but don't know why it won't stay fixed.

When you suggested Ctrl and F5, when do I use them?

Cheers,

Sheba.

You could have been hijacked. Do you get unsolicited pop up adds at times? My virus program deletes them when I reboot. They can be stuborn buggers, though.Nice to see Myrtle going , again.Hope to see her this summer.

Sheba, hope you enjoyed your day and got drunk.

You can use Ctrl and the f5 key anytime you see something not quite right on your screen, all it does is resets your browser, it will not stop it happening, you need to find the cause, check out the site's I listed and see if you can fix it.

Also with Windows gliche's a restart will sometimes help.

Which version of IE are you using?

I'm using IE 8 Wombat.  Won't go to 9, as I've heard of too many problems with that one.

Cheers,

Sheba.

go to IE9, there were a few bugs for the first few of weeks now all sorted, and very stable, I use Firefox, it also has problems from time to time but is a lot faster that IE, if you give FF a try keep IE on your system.

Are there any changes with 9 Wombat ?   I don't like it when upgrades make things different .

Tried Firefox before. Would rather stay with IE.

Doesn't look as though this is doing any real damage though, so I might just stay the way I am for the moment.

Thanks for all your help every-one.

Cheers,

Sheba.
