Shoulder Problem

I have pulled a muscle?? in my left shoulder and it is very painful.
After 3 days and nights, I couldn't stand it any longer so went to the Dr. today.
He gave me a cortisone injection and also oral cortisone and strong pain tablets.
If it is no better after 3 days, I have to go and have it x-rayed.
Also, I am not allowed (or able) to drive the van until it is better as it hurts to change gears. cry

I was feeling quite sorry for myself 'cos I intended to do my first shakedown trip in a few days....but when I read and hear of the plights of others and the positive attitude that they have, it really puts things into perspective. I am only having a minor setback. smile

Cheers. Pam.

Look after yourself Pam. Norma (Shadyandme) has had similiar and that put her back 3 weeks on getting away too. She posted tonight she is on her way heading north, she rested up totally and it has worked.
Do what the doc says and hopefully it will ease up for you. Have you tried Elmore Oil. I use it on my aches and pains all the time.

In the last  10 years, I've had to get over what is termed as having a "cold shoulder" .. first in one shoulder then in the other ..

Boy .. was that an experience .. but eventually managed to regain most of my flexibility but did lose a lot of the strength I previously did have ..

Those that have experienced this will know how little can be done to alleviate the problem. It simply takes time for the situation to slowly improve ..

Thanks for your kind thoughts guys. The cortisone has kicked in and I feel much better today. Just shows me that I should have visited the Dr. earlier. I have a tendency to believe that these things will "disappear" of their own accord....but unfortunately,
that only works sometimes smile

Jon, you must have been in a lot of pain and had "heaps" of physio to overcome your shoulder problem. Glad that it is ok now.

Cheers. Pam.

Milo, thanks for your kind thoughts.

I bought a manual because I figured that being an older model,
(the van...not me of course.... smile)
that if anything went wrong, it should be easier and cheaper to fix.

I hope that my reasoning never needs to be tested. smile

Safe and happy travels to you and your Dad.

New shoulder...

Being in the trades (plumber) sure takes it's toll on ya... Looks like my bone on bone shoulder is makin a wuss outa me... starting to hurt and click more and more...

Off the tools now and I'm not sure if it is just the winter making it feel worse...???

Anyone had a shoulder job done on here with a bit of a story for me...???

Had an xray a while back and the dock said not lookin good...ya can see it is bone on bone sorta thing. Going to have more tests done tomorrow, xray's etc but it's looking like a op coming up...

Might as well make it the year of the knife, just had a open hernia op 4 weeks ago and can still feel where the fly wire went in...!!!

Reckon I should stop reading Dr Google about it... some say good some say bad, do it this way, na do this...

Will get the tests out the way then off to a shoulder bloke I spose and see what they reckon...

Any thoughts folks would be good...!!!

vik... thanks

Cortisone doesn't actually fix much . It takes inflammation away and is pain killer . Rest and support shoulder . Especially sleeping . Take it REAL easy as the damage is still there even though 80% of the pain has gone .. If it's muscle damage ? Or tendon tear ? Find out through scans .. Different ways to cure ..

Then next step is operation . In most cases it's clearing grissle off tendon or nerves .. Or re attaching tendon to bone.. Rotator cuff etc ., The thing is NOT to get old !!
