Any retired signwriters?

Need a couple of small signs for the Chinchilla Free Camp to help those wanting to find the place.

Have given details to Chinchilla Visitors Centre who have suggested putting up a small sign in a couple of places, so would appreciate any help from our members.

markets now you can buy the stickers there.

we do it to our friends in the subaru club once they inherit a nick name we get a sticker done and sneak it on the back of there car

I got all my gear in the van but not sure when I will be up that way. Currently in Albany so not much good for you ATM. Little advice though if I may, keep your sign very clean, as in not to much info because in a drive past you cant read too much info.
cheers

What about "Dougies' Place" above a direction Arrow ?  But then that might only get our mob.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Thanks Glassies & I had thought of that, but going from past experience it wasn't much cheaper than signwriting, but it's an option for sure.

Thanks Blaze but as you say, you're a bit far away. Thanks for the offer anyway mate & I take your point about keeping it clean.
I'm thinking of a small sign say 50cm X 30cm with "Free Camp" & an arrow. I can then put a GN sticker on the top or bottom.

Thanks Sheba. My thoughts exactly as above.

We have a signwriter here but judging from his quote, he is wanting to retire shortly.

Had another lovely couple here over the past week & throughly enjoyed themselves.
They are not GN members but will be shortly.

I left a mud-map at the Visitors Centre for that purpose but the volunteer at the time didn't know about the place when they called in, so they were lucky to even find it, so I don't want that situation arising again.
They said there were 40 caravans camping at the Weir the previous night & hoons were in & out all hours so wanted somewhere quite & peaceful, & that's what they got with a camp fire, water & all.

A good size is 900mm x 600mm, lost count of how many we made that size. A piece of color bond to the desired size and color would cost about $20, then you could get on the internet and find a place that advertises car sticker/boat names and order your letters/words to suit. They will be delivered with app tape aplied which holds all the letters the right distants apart. You then apply these letters/words to your colorbond. They have a pressure senstive adhesive on them. If you decide to go down this path let me know and I will give a more detailed post on how you can get a profession sign at a fraction of the price

Thanks for that Blaze.
I might pop into the Council Office & just check on the size before I go any further, as that seems rather big to me. I was thinking more like 700mm x 300mm & cut the tin to a point & paint the tip for the direction to save printing an arrow. I would then just need "Free Camp" & stick it on as you say.

Would appreciate you PM me with a name though.

I don't want to start spending money on the project, apart from clearing tracks to spots, as I will then have to start charging camp fees, which I don't want to do.

Drop in the council and find the regulations, this will be scary as it can be quite involved, where is it going, who controls the road (sometimes this isnt real clear), is it private property that the sign is going on, it can be a mine field even to the extent of filling in a planing aplication along with the funds to do so. We have been know to by pass these regulations at times by legally doing unuasal things. Sign for a business on an old truck tray sitting in STORAGE on the owners property beside the road, a car bonnet proped up in a private property paddock with indicative signage giving directions to a small home based business about 1km away. Let me know further what you need and I will unload my gear and cut some simple things for you and post over.
cheers
