Goes to show that a life of hard work in the outback is good for long living.  He was a tough looking bugger in the 40s.

Also a very intelligent man, the way he overcame obstacles was incredible.

I read the book "Mailman Of The Birdsville Track" a few years ago. He was an incredible man.

I also have read the book and have the dvd's from our visit to Marree, when Tom was there for the weekend about 7 years ago, I also have posted a picture of him in the seeing red comp again at Marree.

He made history after Burke & Wills. He would have dicovered a whole lot more than B & W in the course of performing his duties as postie and general carrier. What guts!
