HOUSE SITTING

The child bride and I decided to try house sitting, we couldnt believe our luck with the first job we got, it is a B&B the owners are going overseas and they want us to stay in the guest cottage for a month while they are away, only have to feed the dogs, keep a eye on a few cows and mow the grass around the main house and the cottage.

We are chuffed

We just picked up our new van and were quite happy to stay in it while we were there but they wouldn't hear of it

Congratulations! Oh what a feeling!
It looks like mine on the outside, but I bet yours looks better on the inside.
As for the house sitting - that's the guest house?
Book me in. That's luxury to the max. wink.gif

They try not to look lilly, but I see them glancing from the corner of their eyes, some of them seem to get very excited indeed.  If they are really lucky I even put the window down and give them a little wave imslow.gif

House sitting is the way to go, we're on our third, been here (adelaide) since november '10 was to be for about a month  six months later still here not complaining, did 3 months in millmerrin qld, winter last year and done 6 months margaret river '09 that  was excellent had alpacas to feed a couple of dogs, winery down the end of the road tough job that one. Always live in our van but this house belongs to friends and hubby is helping with renovating so they can put it on the market  sure helps to stretch the pension, i've had new stove put in the van a quite a few things done to make it a bit more comfy for when we do get back on the road, hope its soon been in one place long enough.

I tried the housesitting gig several years ago. Registered with a company, paid too much for the privelege, and never got one sit! Not a one! What a waste of money that was!

I've had a few friends ask me here and there, but I'm happy to stay here where my family is, and do my trips.
