Osama Bin Liner Is Dead!

It was reported on Sky news that Osama bin Laden is dead after an american operation in Pakistan.I can only say that I am glad that the yanks finally got the murdering basterd, and the world is a better place for his death. He got his just deserts in the end, and the americans have his body.It just proves there is some justice in the world.

I am not sorry to see Bin Laden dead. However, Al Queda is more than just Bin Laden. We will still be in Afghanistan for years to come. Unfortunately any reading of Afghan history will show that no invading army has ever defeated the Afghans. The only thing that momentarily unites the Afghans is their detestation of outsiders. There will be some very interesting times in Afghanistan, Pakistan and throughout the Muslim world.

Yes its good news, but what makes people load up a kid with all that explosives, and tell them to walk in amongest people and blow them self up. maybe the kid didnt know what was in the bag, most likly set of remotely..This is what we have to fight .when people like that have no regard for kids life or any one else. It makes you wonder what they think..They live in the 15th century, and thats being nice, it will take years to come good ,IF ever..I carnt under stand why the young afgan. men come over here and we send our young men over there to fight for them..???????? explain that to me.....

Fanatics of any kind are bad, whether they are moslem or otherwise.Any religion that says if you kill unbelievers you will end up in heaven with 40 virgins has to be questioned. And to stand by and let them kill thousands of inocents cannot be done.I hope they burry him in a pig slurry, up side down.Someone once said that for evil to triuph , all we have to do is turn our backs and ignore it.and good people do nothing.

While the US did not "know" where Bin Laden was, they had carte blanche to kick down any door in the world in pursuit of him and they used that extensively.

They "always knew" his whereabouts, just look at the spy technology you have on a p.c.( google earth), multiply that ten fold, add real time feed,no one could hide from that.

The US instigated his demise as a strategic move, they expect and undoubtedly want BIG repercussions.

I am sorry if I sound a bit happy at Bin laden,s death but I feel for the family,s of the people who were killed by this fanatic and his followers. I am sure that it will spawn many conspirisy theorys, and maybe the CIA is behind it.Who cares- the world is definately a better place for this despots death.

No conspiracy about it,just good tactical warfare.

As for the man,he was just one of the 300K

people that died on that day, somewhere in the world.

So you reckon that people killed by terrorists should just be written off as just another statistic, and we should ignore the action of a fanatic minority, and do nothing about it, even if they were just inocent bystanders. How would you feel if it was one of your family murdered by one of these fiends? All fanatics are bad no matter what they espouse.

Bill, I never think its fine to gloat over someones death, even this mongrels.

Of course, whilst he is most likely responsible for many deaths so are alot of western politicians & many mistakes have been made throughout history & I have absolutely no doubt that in due course there are certain groups of people that will not be looked upon kindly many years from now & some people may be in for a real surprise when that time comes.

Before anyone fires up at me, I've done time in the middle east & have been exposed to certain elements that arnt force fed through the western media channels to unsuspecting civilians who trust their governments or the media for that matter.

Recent administrations of the American Govt's, since the most recent time of George Bush Snr & every president thats followed in his footsteps and their allies have been responsible for the deaths of many thousands more times (correct I am referring to multiple - X ) of innocent women and children than both Suddam Hussein & Osama Bin Laden could have ever hoped to rack up, meanwhile the smarts of the propagander machine have yet again done another brilliant job in blurring the lines of what is really going on.  This isnt the first time this has happened in history of man. no  Could their jobs have been done differently, MOST LIKELY!

It would be a pity to soil this wonderful forum with Political chat, perhaps a few could benifit from opening their minds and understanding that not everything is the way it would first appear or the way its being portrayed.

There is certainly two or more sides to every story & somewhere between them all the truth lays & I for one, odds on reakon the truth in this case would be very very ugly.

HATE has destroyed so much during the times, so much unneccessary hate, a little understanding & respect would have gone such a long long way.  Anyone who thinks that Sept 11, 2001 was the start of all of this is so terribly mistaken.

Hopefully today (or whenever it was), a villian met his maker & now has to explain for his very evil actions as eventually each one of these baastards will have to do so.

And who started this On Sept 11, about 10 years ago?I don,t give a crap about the politics involved. Killing inocents for some  misguided religious crap is evil, at its worst.I hope he rots in hell, if there is one.

Bill, go back to what I wrote above & re-read.  I mention this specifically.  If you think this started on the 11th of September, 2001, you are sadly mistaken.

edit to say:  Please also note Bill, I wasnt attacking you, I was simply saying that its not a nice business to gloat over anyones death, but do as you will no

I , also , have been to the middle east, and they have been fighting for 2000 years plus, and all these deaths are just another episode, but according to the fanatics, all people who are not moslems are infidels, and lower than dog crap. Lying to an infidel is not a sin, according to them.I think the yanks are their own worst enemies, but I , for one would rather have them as friends, than enemies .At least we can vote for our leaders, even though they might be idiots. And now the arab countrys seem to be leaning that way .Democracy seems to be the best system to me.

Sure Bill, but just visiting the middle east for holidays & trying to understand what is going on there & more importantly the role in which the evil west has played over the years is the real issue.

I agree a real Democracy is the way to go, although I always did fancy myself as a bit of a dictator for a while, until I realised that mini statues of me wernt all that appealing rofl.gif

thats my twocents.gif

There have been wars and problems in the Middle East and North Africa since Biblical times.
It's just the mentality and beliefs behind them which are really the worry in the modern world.
We can't fix it today or tomorrow, if ever.
Cheering over the loss of Bin Laden is not the way to go, but many have lost their lives on his and other's orders over the years. Killing him is just a token act because his followers are still out there to carry on his "work". There will be retalliation and reprisals.
Women and children, especially female children, don't rate very highly in that society.

That dreadful, ill-dressed, whining woman in The Lodge said she "welcomed" his death. Not the right word, Juliar. There are many other, better ways your opinion could have been expressed.
And as someone on another forum has pointed out, by far the biggest killer of innocent civilians in the last 20-30 years has not been Osama's organisation, but the US armed forces. Any comment on that from Canberra? No, I thought not.

tonyd,

I never directly blame the 'armed forces' because afterall their role is to simply follow the lawful directions given by their leaders.  Sometimes the lines of legality are blurred somewhat, especially during these times.  There is no end of very brave soldiers and individuals that have given their lives & health to stand for a cause, to protect & to serve.

I look towards the administrations of the worlds greatest war machine (in modern times).  Surprisingly many innocent woman, children & men have been killed by the various US Administrations (& their allies) & the leader of the tally may surprise a few as it wasnt either of the Bush's, nor the current one.  One of the most powerful killers wasnt bullets or bombs either.  Some would even suggest there have been times when bombs or bullets should have been used, when other methods were wrecklessly engaged.  Alot of people seem to have no idea about the attrocities Bush snr inflicted on the innocent people of Iraq, simply via invading then pulling back out & in doing so allowing a tyrant to take his revenge on his own people.

Others in the know also realise for a very long time the USA & its allies have been funding soldiers of a different kind, rebels that fight wars of varying types without rules or regulations on how they behave or go about their business, meanwhile they sit back and allow attrocities to occur it appears with no conscious. disbelief

As I said before, theres normally more than one side to a story & the one being fed to most in the west is full of holes & inaccuracies, its appauling really, however I also happen to agree that its unaccepatable behaviour to engage in terrorism in the name of a god or a book.

Like any arguement where the two parties think their own case is the only one that counts, wars are inevidible & there is NO OTHER creature on the face of the earth that is as destructive as the Human Being  disbelief .......disgusting creatures really.
