This information pre-dates the recent floods so may need to check, but there is (was?) a popular campsite at Theodore. It's at the southern end of town so you'll have to go into town (Theodore is about a km or so off the Leichhardt Hwy). Although a freebie the local Lions/Apex ask for a donation to maintain the amenities. Amenities are sewered and have showers with (I think) hot water.

I recommend you purchase a copy of 'Camps 6' from any camping store or the RACQ.
The cost will very quickly be recovered.
Cheers, ozjohn.

Would be wise to check with the respective Tourist Information Centres as places like Meandara & Theodore were badly hit by the floods & may even have been destroyed.
Enjoy your trip as things are drying out now except for the Roma area which was hit again by floods just recently.

Havw camps 5 it really is the bible on the road and wouldn't be without it just wondered if anyone knew how things were in these campsites after the floods as I would imagine the top priority would be to get the cities and towns up and running again. Thanks for the advice on the tourist centres Dougie talk about dumb never thought of that. Cheers Helena.

The Banana Shire Council http://www.banana.qld.gov.au/index.php/6 may be able to give you an update on Theodore.  They list a phone number for an office in nearby Moura.
