Hello, I am new here.

I hope I am doing the right thing by starting a new subject.

I wanted to introduce myself as I finally took the leap tonight and joined the forum.  I will admit to you all that I have been watching and reading from the sidelines for some time now BUT since you all seem like a nice friendly crowd I decided I might get actively involved, if you don't mind?

In the coming months will have a new caravan delivered (is currently being built) & will be hitting the road in the coming months on a permanent basis.

Anyway, hello all & congradulations on a pleasant & polite forum, something that isnt all that common these days.

regards

jack

Welcome, and as I've often said on this forum; " the only dumb questions are the ones that aren't asked",

Ohhh wow, I didn't expect so many wonderful welcomes...... Thankyou so much.  I am not really sure if I will be able to contribute much, but I am sure I have a bit to learn from your vast experiences biggrin.

I would like to thank each one of you individually but I would be here for a week pushing buttons on the keyboard no

Yes Bob, I'm also a Biggles fan, a great adventurer and pilot.  Obviously Jack is my name, biggles is not my real surname wink but I didnt want to give too much away.

Regarding my van, it should be ready mid year, which is rapidly approaching & I will be towing it with my trusty old Landcruiser ute....... its a bit like a tractor in features & ride comfort and difficult to kill.  I like the far outback & remote places & it seems to do the job.  The van is 20 foot long, which is a couple more foot than I really cared to tow around, but as I kept adding items to it in the design stage, I had to stretch it a bit.  Its certainly a fine balancing act this 'vanning' game, one has to be mindful of weights & sizes, rules & regulations, this & that  (I thought retirement was going to be relaxing)  no

Anyway, enough from me.  Thankyou for being so welcoming.  I watched a couple of forums for a few months now & this one wins hands down as friendly & non-confrontational, so good job people thumbsup.gif

Welcome Jack Biggles - you must be a distant Relo of mine, on my mums side, twice removed, I think...... Hope to meet you on the track somewhere - Not retired yet, but have been asked what cheap watch I want when I do.

 Bob,

I would not put anything on here that is not already on my pooter, most people have virus and spam checkers.

Too funny, ohhh no not another one.  shocked.gif

Ahhh the old cheap watch, think I threw mine in either the trash or one of the boxes that went into storage.....decided that I wouldnt be needing to keep an eye on the time anymore, although old habits die hard.

Thankyou for the welcome.

Thanks for that Rob.  Yeah they certainly don't make them like biggles anymore.  My guess is, in a few years time when people like us have moved onto another dimension, poor old biggles will be forgotten.  HEAVENS FORBID. no

Where do you people hoard all that stuff? I just don't have that sort of room in the van, so some of these things had to go.
Welcome Biggles Jack.
I'm sure there are many "readers" out there in nomad land who read us but don't join us for whatever reason.
I think that's ok, because I'm sure they'll take what they want and leave the rest, and maybe join us some time down the track.
We seem to be a pretty congenial mob, so it's nice of you to join us.
What travels are you planning when you turn out of the your driveway?

Welcome Jack Biggles.  We had a clock installed in our caravan and it has not worked since.  Decided to leave it where it is.  It is right twice a day now, stuck on 11:05!
