Put them where I can see them. For all my miles I haven't seen any stickers or grey ribbons on aerials yet.
I have stickers on the back of my van and car, and grey ribbons flying in the breeze.
It just goes to show, it's a big country and we're all over the place. So folks, get out of those driveways and hit the road!

Grey ribbons? what ordinary grey ribbon? no printing on the or anything - if thats the case - will get some.

The reason for the ribbons is to recognise GN's as they approach from the front. Stickers are good on the back but they're a bit small to see quickly from the front unless you're parked up in the same place. That's when someone came up with the grey ribbons idea.
I use silver/grey cake decorating ribbon from Spotlight. Any ribbon will do, but it will fray after a while flapping in the breezes.

I'll have to get some grey ribbon too. I have 2 grey nomad stickers, one for the car, one for the trailer. I also have Lucy on the back window of the car, and Gypsy on the back of the trailer. And Lucy is clear red, so not hard to miss! clap.gif

I'm heading north from Brisbane in June.

I confess it was me.

I use the silver/grey gift ribbon from the $2 shop and put about half a dozen pieces together and put them on the top of the aerial.

They have been on there for over 10 months and 20,000ks and don't even look like fraying.

Cheap enough to replace anyway if you buy one of the big rolls at $2.50

We're just 52yo so we're only semi grey,  does that mean our ribbon should be 2 tone...say... grey & brown like my hair?...hang on!  Hylda has blonde hair so it would have to be 3 tone, but wait, she was considering putting in a pink streak, so then the ribbon would be...bugger it I think I'll get a rainbow one & be done with it.

Cheers

Jon

OOOH Hylda and Jon! That might cause some interesting feedback! A lady I met had a rainbow-flag sticker, and when I said I'd like one, she asked if I was lesbian too? She said the rainbow sticker was their "sign".

How's Karijini? Did you take your caravan in? Any camp areas to recommend? We will be there in a couple of months hopefully.

We may be having a gay time here but thats as far as I'll go on that subject.

The weather has made a liar out of me. I wrote where we are in our signature expecting to be out of Internet range for a week camped at Dales Camp Ground in the Karijini Nat Park but it poured rain last night & predicted again for tonight so we are actually still at the caravan park at nearby Tom Price. Ask me in a week & I'll hopefully be able to tell you.

Cheers

Jon
