Most expensive caravan park in the world!!!

Don't think we'll be staying at Smith's Beach Resort Caravan Park in Yallingup near Busselton in W.A.  At $600 - $800 @ night for a powered site it's out of our league.

Apparently only have 8 sites. If you ring and enquire they say they are fully booked, but if you go and look there are no caravans on site where the park is supposed to be. The C.P near by charges $25-$30 @ night.

They have to have a certain amount of powered sites to keep caravan park creditation, no one says you have to fill them

The most expensive sites in the world are without a doubt in the US.

Many of the up market RV Resorts now have 'Super Sites' which are double sites enclosed by their own picket fence (With gates) to keep in the four legged friends and unwanted guests out. They also have their own private screened and covered Jacuzzis and BBQ.
I also saw one in Clearwater Florida that had automatic retaractable shade cloth over the complete site.
These 'Super Sites' 2 years ago ranged in price from $120/night Off season to $230/night High season. The aveage in high season was around $180/night.
Highest I've seen in Aust is a few costal parks during the January Holidays charging upto $950 a week for a family of 4.

One well known park in Sydney was charging $90/night with a minimum of 4 nights last Easter.

With the ever increasing charges being imposed, along with the increased costs of day to day running of parks and property investment companies entering the market (Shareholders want a dividend) Site fees will unfortunately continue to rise along with everyting else. It's another crappy fact of life.
