Department Environment and Conservation WA Campgrounds

WEB URL LINK - Welcome to DEC's campgrounds

There is now an online resource available for information, online contact and booking into WA Campsites which are managed by Department Environment Conservation (DEC).

To help you plan your holiday DEC is developing a booking system to reduce pressures in the most popular campgrounds. For campers convenience, bookable sites are currently under development and will be made available early in 2011.This online process will hopefully allow for booking through the website for campground spots in some regions but this is not the only method you may still turn up and get sites if they are available.

Travelers have to be aware as with all popular sites around Aus there are peak times that you are sometimes likely to miss out if you just turn up on site so this I believe is a move forward to allow some planning by the traveler and an attempt to hopefully avoid disappointment.

The other hopefull advantage and outcome of this resource is the information on the website can be updated more readily by regions and thus allow that updated information quicker to travelers that have access to internet.

This is a new process and I am sure there is going to be comments and improvements over time. I recommend any constructive comments be referred to DEC through the website or regionally in WA

Further information prior to arrival to any region I recommend contact that region and details are also available on the website

Cheers
