If you see this

If you see this van or vehicle say hi

DSC_4242.jpg

The disco will be minus the ladder and sitting level by the time we leave, had a blown rear air bag when pic was taken and has since been replaced.

And just to finish with a pic that was still on the camera from a bit of a drive about a month ago
cheers

Hello Blaze.
I would be interested to find out how your Disco tows your van. We will be heading off later this year with a Disco towing our van.
How much fuel do you carry and is it petrol/diesel???
What is the weight of your van???

Old disco is a tdi 300 deisel, I sit on 85 to 90kmh. Hills slow me down a bit if they are long, turbo temps start to creep up a bit. Have been told by some you can get 900km from a tank of fuel. I have never had them figures, best ever was 720km with that roof rack and ladders on. The more you carry the more fuel you use and as it was a work vehicle it was loaded all the time. If I can get 600km a tank I will be happy while towing.
cheers

One of my mates who is semi pro with the camera reckons I should submit some for publication, I dont photoshop any photos and they come straight off the camera and I dont think they are good enough. But I do see what he has published, of late they have been postcards and calanders and a couple of mags, he puts a fair amont of work into them
cheers

Best wishes Robert for your life on the road, hope you get plenty of work.

Re your Disco, I have friends with an 02 model (petrol). They recently upgraded from a camper trailer to a Jayco Sterling and in order to fit a weight distribution hitch they replaced the rear air bags with coil springs. They now find that the rig tows much better and is more stable on the road since doing the modification. As I'm not a Disco owner myself I can't give much more details than that.

cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim
Towed the van around some of the worst roads you may encounter on the way to our annual camp, twisty, bumpy and hilly and the van tows straight and true even when taking evasive action. I run 20 pound in the air bags (only air assist). I very neally put air assist under the van this year to lift it up to get into the annual camp site as it was very wet and bogged up. Still may fit them one day as it would be handy to get another 3 inch cleanacr at times
cheers

You've obviously got it right then, no point in fixing a non-existent problem. I have air assist similar to yours fitted to the Pajero.

That info may be useful to other Disco owners.

best wishes for the trip,

Jim

not sure if this will work, but here goes, it may take a while to load, just give it time.
