Insurance

Hi there everyone.  Have started looking at your forum as we have just ordered our motorhome which wont be ready until mid April and would like some advice about insurance.  We see there are a few companies that deal with this but could anyone give us a rought idea what it it likely to cost.  We are both at the back end of our 60's, have never had an accident and currently have rating 1 with AAMI for our other two vehicles.  We are buying a 23ft Jayco.  We have done some touring but in the past have used our off-road camper/trailer and are now really looking forward very much to doing the same and more in absolute luxury (?).

p.s. Thanks Jimricho for your response and for referring me to "Bad Trip" we certainly hope not to repeat their disasters.  I am putting this as a New Post because it might not been seen otherwise.  Thanks

Hi there lillipit43
My wife and i are currently touring Tassie and were in the same predicament. The insurance companies we were using wanted nothing to do with us.However i must point out that we have sold our house.
Anyway, we are using currently insured with APIA.The van is a 2005 A Van approx 23ft valued at $28000 and the vehicle is a 2005 Jeep valued at $32000.
The van costs us approx $42 per month and the Jeep $64.Hope this helps

We have a good coverage with AARP's RV insurance. They also do our home and auto insurance so the multi policy gives us good discounts. You might want to check that out.
