Queensland holidays this year

HI all,
Wondering if we will be able to holiday in Queensland this year after all the flooding would still love to go there as our dollars may help those little towns that are certainly going to need a helping hand what are everyones thought on this. Helena.

I did read somewhere the other day that although it will take sometime to cleanup they are wanting the travellers to please come back for your holidays as they need all the help they can get financially.

Couldnt agree more. As bad as the situation is, it will pass. roads will be repaired, the grass will grow, the cattle will breed, the world will still spin and hopefully we will all learn something.....

wouldnt be nice if they welcome the travelers back with a slightly different atatude to the one many have with taking the most amount of dollars in the shortest time possible, in saying that I do hope they all get back on their feet quickly and without someone trying to profit from theeir misfortune. Bit iroronic what I have just said isnt it, now if there was no greed I wouldnt be saying what I have justt said
cheers

I think the Airlie beach - Cannonvale area is somewhat over priced and over-rated especially for the likes of us.

However if you go off the beaten track just a little it can be a different story.  I think it will be these places that will appreciate our custom as they get back on their feet.

I was all set to go visit sister and brother-in-law who recently moved to Tin Can Bay. But it poured overnight and two roads are closed again. cry doh.gif

My son and family are heading back to Biggenden from here in a couple of weeks. He's not sure which way they will try to get back. Came down 2 days before Xmas and there was water over the road in the Dalby Kingaroy in patches that were up to the top of the wheels.
Thinks it will be worse now after the flooding so will look for a better way home.

Ditto to all above... Qld will dry out. I would advise go, go and go. Most of the time up here it's rather dry, especially out west. Before this lot of floods, the west was the best we'd ever seen it. It is, and will be so green. That in itself is a wonder. We live on the coast, but go west every year. Some part of the coast are more beautiful than others, however, it's much of ...same old, same old. Out the west, the country is forever changing. Most of the western towns really do appreciate your $$$$. The coast is, I think, over rated and over priced.
Cheers Dellie

I have heaps of cousins in western Qld and they're just loving all this rain. It would be such a picture to see such green paddocks for a change.
