NSW South Coast "Spots"

We are hoping to spend a couple of months on the south coast. Would love any recommendations- we like having a campfire(conditions permitting), don't need toilet or showers, and sometimes like electricity. Not just looking for free camping  but hate the caravan park cement slab & side by side regimentation. Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

I note your comments about Caravan Parks but I can recommend the "Fountain" Caravan Park in Eden. You will need to stay in CPs occasionally when you require access to electricity.

We have stayed several times at the Caravan Park at the far North end of Tathra Beach. Its right on the beach, their unpowered section is huge and you can feel like you are in the bush. Campfires could be a problem everywhere because of fire bans.
Dont go in School holidays, it is VERY crowded anywhere on the South Coast.

Between Nowra & Moss Vale you have Kangaroo Valley which is one of the prettiest places in NSW with the lovely little village of Kangaroo Valley.

Apart from the 2 caravan parks in town you also have Bendeela Camping Ground which is a couple of Km out of town & is the perfect setting on the edge of a river for swimming or canoeing. It has stacks of room, drinking water, toilets, no showers but the river is there to wash in. Wombats roam free but they can rock your caravan at night by scratching themselves on the underside.

A short drive away there are the magnificent Fitzroy falls which are a must see for a day trip.

Cheers
Jon.
