Loved the comment by Hagar the Horrible. You should all read it so you can have a go back at him.

Hagar was having a dig at caravaners on the road and why they shouldn't be allowed.

Don't bother answering him/her...

You can't win an argument against anyone who is either angry, stupid, or drunk
Other comments are quite positive and we should not be oversensitive to criticism especially if it's not valid criticism but a meaningless diatribe like his/hers.

The article also mentions alleged "snobbery" in Caravan Parks. I've heard mention of this before but I can't say I've ever noticed it myself, and if it did exist I think my modest set-up would be well down the "pecking order"

Maybe we sometimes mistake some other people's lack of gregariousness or desire to keep to themselves or their immediate group as snobbery.

I have a relative with a very up-market rig and he comlains that people expect them to be snobbish, so nobody talks to them!

hi one and all
i believe there is definetly snobbbery in caravn parks
but and like you jim i am way down the bottom of the pecking order with our 1988 jayco dove
but that doent stop me talking to every one because i think people will talk if they want to and those that are that snobby i dont think i want to know them.
we were staying at burnett heads a couple of winter ago at the lighthouse caravan park a small park but great, hubby and i were sitting under our wonderful home made blue tarp awning (left the real one at home stupid me) most of the the people were real freindly (we were there 3 months) found that most of the snobs were people who stayed just a few days and those in 5 wheelers. one day sitting under our awning with a couple of friendlies having a coffee and in comes this 5 wheeler and big chevy pulling it it parks just near us and we all go "oh yer" and are thinking wont get to know these people, he nosooner parks when around the corner of our van comes this guy "how ya goin" he says and we all became instant friends.
go to show that that big isnt always snobby, just have to take them as they come.

lyn

p.s. i have been called annoying cheerful, and that helps my hubby says!
