My plans for the holidays, is a nice little 4 nights away from home.....Two nights in Wangaratta..one night in Cobram them maybe off to Echuca for one more....Because of the rising River Murray and the Mossies I don't think I could handle anymore.
Hey as to mozzies - someone told me if you spray Listerine all round on chairs etc, keeps them at bay - haven't tried it myself - I don't often get bitten anyway, but she reckons it works for her and she always gets stung by them - don't know if it works on a sting to take the bite out of it, but I suppose that's worth a try too. Cheap enough to give it a go I reckon.

Jules 47 You are right....I use Listerene from Aldi put into a widex spay bottle thing and go for it..it worked for me years ago..But I gotta say the Mossies on the Murray are really bad this year...I am going to try it after Christmas

I'm going out to buy some listerine. I have everything that has been suggested. Damn mozzies up here are so bad because of all the rain, can't leave my back door open at all. I walk around with a can of spray in my hand all the time and hope to get them beforethey get me. Your little mate Sally looks so much like my little mate Punky who is 4 months old, got her a bit over a month ago.
I live in a house here in Qld with no screens - I bought one of those automatic battery powered insect spray things - Raid is the one I got - anyway, plastic cover, put special can of spray in, little switch pushes the nozzle every 30 seconds or so - it kills or repels everything - ****roaches, moths, mozzies, flies - you actually see the bugs flying around in a panic, and ****roaches scuttle away - or next morning they are dead on the floor.
Cost about $30 ish for whole system, but lasts for months, and I always have my windows open, I have a small house, so if you have a big place you would need two at either end of house I suppose.
Anyway, I reckon its good.

I bugbombed my small unit middle of last week and everything is dying around me, but they still fly inside and catch me if I go outside. The bugbomb effects are still working and will for a while as finding dead bugs of all sorts around the sills. All websites tell you to avoid getting bitten and don't go outside morning or evening, the only problem is they are around all day at the moment, you can get bitten in the middle of the day. Standing at the letter box 11am talking to he neighbour, next minute we are both slapping mozzies that are biting into our arms. Hanging washing on the line, etc etc.
Marj! Sally is 10 this year and is still so full of beans....Everywhere she goes it's always in a rush......Barks like made....We actually got her from Moama The Nursery owners were going to have to put her down because Sally's former owner was an old lady who passed on and my wife rescued her 7 years ago.....For awhile Sally was so shy....But now...Can't keep her still...Yours looks cute too

As long as the smell (of listerine) is not as bad as dettol. I can do the dettol and baby oil mix on my legs but can't get it any closer to my nose for long time wear. It sure keeps the mozzies away from my legs.
Amazing Jim, I rescued Punky from the animal rescue, they had a family of mum and two pups handed in from someone in Shepparton. Its great to give a dog a home isn't it. Punky is full of beans and not sure how I'm going to control her out and about when travelling.
Sally and Punky are just sooo cute! I love cute little fluffy dogs.
I have heaps of mozzies and midgees(spelling?) here too. Strangely, the midgees only come from one side of the house. Every time I open the window in front of my PC, I'm being bombarded. I'll have to try the listerine. Someone else told me about it too.
I've wondered about those sprays Jules..whether they worked. I have the deodorizer one that puffs a lovely frangipani scent every 36 minutes.
