I read the posting with concerns of some about how Centrelink may categorise and pay out (or not)to those Grey Nomads who are (or may be entitled to be) on a benefit or pension of some sort. I believe it would help to give validity and credibility to what "Grey Nomadding" as a lifestyle choice is all about if the website owners could get CentreLInk to agree to post a Link to the Grey Nomads Jobs Vacancies listings on this website. I mean how could Centrelink view that as other than a public service and in total support of the Centrelink "Harvest Trail" jobsearch section? Once that has been achieved, one might start to see a different kind of support to intending or actual Grey Nomadders from those at Centrelink who are placed to advise on all things financial for Centrelink Income recipients. If it can be shown that many of us are ready and willing to roll up our sleeves and earn a few bob instead of just accepting the Centrelink Benefit while enjoying a different lifestyle from the norm, well..............that's JOBSEARCH personified isn't it?
Of course as a seasoned oldie having witnessed from other "fellow human beings" much cynicism, jealousy, envy, I just can't resist commenting that perhaps when some of US go to ask some of THEM about entitlements and how to get them when one adopts the Grey Nomad mantle, that some of THEM would be so envious (that they can't follow suit), that being helpful and supportive just won't come easy to THEM as they survey their office entrapment and the long lines of often difficult to comprehend and handle social security dependent, and often otherwise anti-social misfits that they have to contend with day to day.
Oh Yawn! Yawn! Yawn!...........I want me 'van, a nice beach, a rod and a tinnie in me hand...
