avoid spuds!

Hi everyone, during our recent trip from Port Augusta to The Painted Desert in South Australia we had the misfortune to be conned by Spuds roadhouse advertising "last fuel for 100k", assuming that the price could only be the same or dearer we filled up only to discover later down the track that they were 10c a litre dearer than Port Augusta and Glendambo further north . Spuds services Woomera so if you wish to send them a message then spend your money at the first servo as you enter Glendambo from the South, save yourself 10c a litre and help a delightful hard working asian family who run the roadhouse.
cheers,
Ozi2

Would dearly love too send them a message....Would'nt be allowed on this  site...We need to be warned about  the crooks out  there,    and we can beat them too..By doing what you are doing...Thank you.......

The best message we can send them is to bypass their establishment and use the next one, and by word of mouth, tell all you meet whether they are heading that way or not.

.......I don't agree with you old mate.....They would'nt know if we were trying too punish them that way...I would prefer too tell them and all of the others who think the traveller is an easy target

I can see your point of view Jimbo but inmy opinion if you send him an email it would simply be put in the rubbish and forgotten but if enough people boycott his business, whether he knows why or not, it is going to hit his hip pocket and that as I see it is a good way to punish the rip off merchant.

I'm not sure what is the best way to send them the message but most of you probably already know about the fuel watch site but I thought I'd put up the link for those who aren't aware of it...........the downside is you have to have the internet for it to be of any use to you while travelling.

It's been a couple of years since I've been to Woomera, but yes the one on the Highway was very expensive (maybe they believed in "Highway" robbery, lol, but if you drive into the township, the nearest road in the townshop parallel with the highway was much, much cheaper, obviously because they catered for the locals.

This link says there are several in the town, see;
