hi bill, thanks for your reply
would -2 be enough if i restock it with meat and vegs and other things as i thought it might have to be lower to freeze it quicker so it doesnt go off
what do you think

Hi Possum. I run mine @ -10 to -12 deg C as a freezer mutch safer temp for food storage, ideal is -14 to -16 deg C but i find a bit heavy on power consumption on that setting.   Daryl

hi daryl, hope you can give me some advise on something
here goes
i have got my
103amp agm batt, 35,40lt waecos,dual batt system 850 generator, and 800watt inverter, eva-power power supply/battery charger 240vlt
question is, what would be the best way to use all these things to make our travelling as efficient as possible. how would you hook it all up if you were doing it
hope you dont mind me asking

You will probably get 2 days outof the battery depending very mutch on the temp of the day. using the unit asa freezer you will probably use double the Ah rating compared to fridge temp.  For battery charging get as mutch as you can out of vehicle altenator generaly if im traveling a fairbit during the day its enough. But if im hanging around mutch use a genny & battery charger. I do have a 100W solar panel this only just keeps up with a 80L waeco upright fridge, if not enough sun its back to generators.  Daryl

Bill12, is on the ball Possum, You dont need to freez the ar...s of your stuff if its only for a few days ..weeks..-2 to -4 is plenty for that time. IF you were going to keep it any longer yep go for a lower temp...All you will be doing is useing power for nothing..What we do is run it a little harder in the day when sola power is at its best, then you can turn the fridge down over night , or off ,to save power..Just remember to turn it back on next day...Big smile..

Its seems to work. I have just come back from NT, barra fishing, and it kept the fish frozen all the way back to Magnetic is, The only problem was there was no room for the beer!I had to give away barra fillets to fix a 6 back in. You have to get your priorities right.I have a deep cycle150amp hr, and a 120amp/hr starting battery, and 3 -40 w solar pannels on the roof.

The colder you run your freezer the more power it will use.
The more often you open it, the more power it will use.
The warmer things are when you put them in, the more power it will use.
The hotter it is where your freezer is kept, the more power it will use.

Same for the fridge.

Cheers,
Peter
