Hi Lorraine. Tis indeed Roebourne, but I wont be difficult by asking you to name the buildings which are actually part of the Old Roebourne jail. Story goes that an aboriginal man, arrested for killing stock, escaped from the jail and walked back home to Fitzroy Crossing, a distance of 950km. Cheers
Thanks yobarr, surprised I got that, I have not been getting subscriptions emails for weeks now, so I just have to remember to look occaisionally. Just checked my photos, strangely have not photos of Roebourne. Which can only mean one of two things. We did not go there, or we did not take any photos!! (Or in actual fact, drove through with our eyes shut, cos there is a yellow line on my map through Roebourne, on the way to Cossack and Pt Samson.)
But we did take some photos here. Where are we when Mr D was holding up this rock?
Nice little low cost camp spot nearby (or at least there was in 2015 when we took this photo)

Won't say where it is, but I think Mr D would be pretty Cranky if that rock fell on him. Or dead.Cheers
I know that you know, but obviously you want someone else to know.
You are,of course, right Lorraine. Only occassionally look here so thought itd be nice if someone else had a chance to show their own photos. Take care. Cheers
I believe I have known the answer from the moment you posted it but a little cranky that just befòre we left home a month ago I took the steps to undate my laptop with Windows Eleven and now my Laptop not recognising my camera or storage.
So that makes me real cranky.
Have enjoyed a few nights in that quaint caravan park.

Cranky Rocks, near Warialda NSW.
I am cranky that it took so long to come up with the right answer
I am cranky that I am not getting my "email me whenever there is a new post to this topic"
I am cranky that I am so cold
I could go on, but I am happy to say that Radar has it. It is Cranky Rocks near Warialda - which by the way, sells the most delightful honey I have ever eaten.
Hopefully, you have managed to take a few photos since you left home so we can keep playing this game. OR I SHALL BECOME CRANKY.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
Hi All, Just looked at Pick this Place and knew it too. Have camped there a few times. Last time we were there, there were new managers from the time before and for Happy Hour they suppled, free of charge, lovely pastries, dips and other goodies and there was a new amenities block (it was disabled but was used by all who got the door code). We are on the road at the moment, heading south. Cheers all.
Good spot for a break in your travels. We have a travelling friend who lived on the farm below Cranky Rock and the stories he relaid about those things that wriggle, the cold of a night while driving the tractor while ploughing in the early sixties. Burrr cold.
I do remember that in the seventies when I was driving transports all over the place we would drive though the town of Forbes, then one day after doing a few years on the coast runs there was this new way to go though town and it was called progress.
