RAAF Museum RAAF Base Point Cook Point Cook Road Victoria 3030
Well worth 3 hours or so
Craig, you are right, RAAF Museumvat Point Cook is definately worth 3 hours or so.
BUT
Gaylehere has done the research and found the connection to the Werribie Airfield (not far from Point Cook) Alll you grey nomads really need to visit this museum, where they are
Restoring Australia's only surviving B-24 Liberator
No, not Cobb and Co. in Toowoomba. I haven't been inside that museum for many years also.
With this display, you usually stand outside the little building and look into the display through the glass, but when we were there the son of the owner arrived and let us go inside. The old gentleman owner is in his 90's and still likes to tinker.
Don't know exactly where you live Dunmowin, but this display would be closer to your place than mine.
Gayle, there is a display at Mt Tabor, on hill outside Warwick. Mr D went there with the Mens Shed a few weeks ago. Sounds like your photo, except that the Cobb&Co coach had no horses attached.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
No, not Mt. Tabor, but must make a note of there for when we next head out Warwick way. This place is across the border. We had spent a few days in the Stanthorpe area after Easter and we came across this display by chance. We don't usually head down the highways unless we need to be some place in a hurry. All being well, we are going for a day drive tomorrow to Mt. Mee area, inspired by a photo Dunmowin put up some time back. Cheers.
Yes Dunmowin, Liston it is. The Aloomba Lavender Farm is just up the road a bit. There is camping at the farm if anyone is interested. Plus a small lavender products shop with a cafe. The sign at the gate of Aloomba says it's only open certain days but we went in and the older lady who runs the shop says she's nearly always there no matter what the sign says.
