My lady and I were talking today as drove for about hour for lunch, we both agree last year when we were downthat way there was a lot of work going on in that park. So we will check it out next year.
At about 1986/87 I drove for people at Nanago and my main work was moving the contractors out from the completed Tarong Power Station. Probably 60 loads to the site of Calide B and when we were the other month there is a Calide C. Hugh affair.
Well now Radar, SPOT ON, well done. You get another go!
I can see next chance I get I will just have to have my "Rippa" ready.
Some details for Lake Peery.
Lake Peery - Flood Bladder type water body on the Paroo River
before the Paroo River flows into the Darling River, which would
occur very rarely these days.
55k east of White Cliffs, 110k south of Wanaaring N.S.W.
In the Paroo Darling National Park
A birdwatching paradise when Peery Lake is full, stop for a barbecue or a
short walk at Peery Lake picnic area

Paroo-Darling Visitor Centre is a good place to pick up maps and
information about the park
The closest towns are White Cliffs (55km south-west) and Wilcannia (110km south)
Peery Lake is in an isolated part of the region and you should have
provisions for yourself and passengers for at least a full-day.
Your vehicle should be in good condition and fuel up before departure
from the last town.
If youre looking for a peaceful spot to unwind on your outback adventure,
cook up a barbecue and stretch your feet at Peery Lake picnic area.
Youll have a view of Peery Lake, and maybe a surprise visit from local
kangaroos and emus enjoying a feed.
When Peery Lake is full, it transforms into a spectacular inland playground
for water birds, and you can take a canoe out for a paddle.
Even when its dry, the lake bed is home to freshwater plants and animals.
Hear the calls of pink ****atoos, mulga parrots and red-backed kingfishers,
and you might even spot the elusive grey falcon if youre lucky.
May to November is the best time to visit, especially when winter rains
bring a wonderful show of wildflowers in spring.
Peery Lake is a significant place to the Barkandki Aboriginal Traditional Owners,
and you'll find Aboriginal sites are scattered all around the
lake's edge and surrounding cliffs.

I slowly realise as I get older that I am definitely NOT the fastest rat in the race.
Also the older I get the more I realise I do not know.
