It's a long time since I drove though this aviation town and with Google help, I was very surprised by how this rural town had grown in last 35 years and one town for its air show that has been on our bucket list.

Bill I cheated it's written on the sign , I have good vision , Just had to pass a Road Train Medical , They sent me to ECG and eye specialist check up before clearing me for no restrictions MC Road Train . Was going back to work , but everything on hold for now . Watching the trucks go past , in "The Hill."Lucky I didn't change my pension , with Centrelink the way it is.
Yep at the back of my place . Stuck here watching the traffic . Over to you sandman. Taken just a while ago , highway is busy with people getting to where they have got to go . A bit like Christmas . Except it's for a very different reason.
Sorry Guys I didn't get email notification for this so I thought I better check in. Well according to Google with those two towns Coober Pedy is closer by 38km than Marree so that should give it away.

I had thought it might be William Creek when I first saw the picture, but forgot to put in a reply... Even though I don't recall that at William Creek.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
You've got it Dunmowin William Creek I have a photo of the pub there on either side of the photos in the list. We took a tourist flight from Coober Pedy over the lake and they stopped off at William Creek over to you for a pic.

Thanks Sandman.... Really cannot remember this angle of the pub, but the word "flights" did make me think it was William Creek. I do remember inside the pub a bit more...
OK, so here is something from my files "pre-virus"
There are lots of silos around Australia, some are painted, some not. Where are these ones...
Google is a wonderful thing. I am surprised that no one else was able to work it out, especially the QLDers on this site. (Radar, BillB, Gaylehere)
Yes, Sandman, Kingaroy it is, Peanut Capital of Australia
It is known as the "Peanut Capital of Australia" because Australia's largest peanut processing plant is located in the town and peanut silos dominate the skyline. Kingaroy is also well known as the home town of former Premier of Queensland, Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen
Don't you love the way our huge caravan is dwarfed by the silos.
Take us on your journey Sandman
