Excellent work, Doug it is indeed Vivonne Bay on Kangaroo Island and take heart ....I think I speak to many of us on this forum that we all resort to Dr. Google when there is a 'mystery photo to be solved'and not much to go on. It can be quite a feat as sometimes this process can take hours........
Remember the challenge is not to "know it all," but to at least be a little faster at 'research' then the next person. Gwynnie

Just for the record Gwynnie, the sun sets over water in Queensland, so that might just blow your theory.
W also camped on a peninsula in SA, where we had ocean views to the east, west and south, so watched the sun go down over the Southern Ocean in South Australia.
I am sitting on the fence with this, but that does look like wedge island in the background!

Yes Dunmowin, not to split hairs here, I was not necessarily suggesting Doug's photo was taken in Western Australia but now I know he is looking in a westerly direction. By the tide line it looks like a coastal region in the northern tropics? Gwynnie

Having a wonderful time on KI the best kept secret ever...thanks Doug! Are you near Port Campbell Bay in Victoria assuming you are facing in a westerly direction. Any other hints may helpful. Gwynnie

Gwynnie, it's like putting a wet finger on a hot plate, ssssssssss. You are very hot for the point of land in the distance but just warm for where I took the pic from.
Phillip Island is the Island I am near.
Ya should get it now.
Edit.....Don't forget it's a two part question

Remember I said it's a two part question,to get the cupie doll you must name both places.both places have been mentioned.
Take a better look and think about what you said Gwynnie. Maybe read my last comment as well.

Well Doug, my 'ugly mug' has been on this site a little too much for my liking today. But I will make one last attempt at your photo and if I am incorrect then I will leave it up to someone else brave enough to keep trying. Kilcunda (as mentioned by Terry B.) is on the mainland and Cape Woolamai Beacon (my guess) is on Phillip Island near Gull Island.
So I am guessing you are at Kilcunda Coastal Reserve looking across near Cape Woolamai Beacon as the headland in the background. Using Google maps there are 15.1 kms between these two points. Gwynnie

Take the cupie doll Gwynnie.
Spot on.
I was actually at the back door of a caravan my late wife and I had on site at Kilcunda CVP for many years when I took that pic along with many others over the years.
Maybe Bluecat could give us a run for our money.

Yeh Terry, thought it would be a good choice to restart to the game. CONGRATULATIONS... A great guess, so it is all yours for the next photo!! Good luck...Gwynnie
