Majestic TV/RV Wineguard wind up antenna

Hi there  everyone, We have a Majestic brand RV/TV with usual wind up/down winegard antenna. We are having trouble tuning it in as per manual. Is there any tricks in tuning this in??. For normal house tv we get great reception in house but must  be doing something wrong with caraavan tv.

cheers
crocodile.

I have a friend with a wineguard antenna and the pointer inside the van is 90 degrees (or 270 degrees depending on which way you look at it) out of "whack" to the direction the antenna is actually pointing. Try changing the direction the antenna is pointing and see how you go. As I'm otherwise not familiar with the antenna I can't help much more than this.

Hi Crocodile,
Have you turned the Winegard12v booster on?????

I recently bought our new rig and could only get 'blue screen' reception, until I read the book, as all else had failed.
I assume they all have a booster.

Cheers,
patto

Forgot about that one Patto, remember now switching the booster on for normal use but off when connected to the caravan park's common antenna with a cable supplied by the park (available at some parks located in poor reception areas)

On another forum he mentioned he resides in Ipswich. He is probably so close the the BNE transmitters that he needs it turned off.

Had a similar problem with a Happy Wanderer 'T" type unit so disconnected it from the van plug and went direct to TV go pic but was still fuzzy , lowered aerial to almost level with poptop and got all the channels clear as a bell. Haven't had chance to check it out if it's the aerial height or the internal cabling from van plug that's the real problem .

Apart from the TV news I sometimes think it's more trouble than it's worth tuning the unit in
