Hi! Spare parts for Mercedes-Benz older Sprinter campervans?

Just checking if anyone has info on available spare parts in NSW (specifically fuel pumps/sensors) for 1998 Sprinters?  Friends of mine have recently bought one and following up an ECD dashboard light, and loss of some power, were advised that it could be the pump/sensor - and that there were none available in Australia!!  Seeing the number of Sprinters happily cruising aound, I wonder if this is true?confuse Would be delighted to hear this is not so.......................

Hi
Have a mate with a spriner as a work van, He brought it 2nd hand and purchased another so he had spare parts. He had lots of calls from around the country chasing bits off his wrecker one, could have sold it and trippled his money. So going by that parts are expensive and hard to source. He did get a few bits from somewhere in melbourne though. cant tell you where though
best of luck
cheers

Hi Blaze, thanks for the info - I'm finding out that parts ARE hard to get, and it seems e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e!!!! not my sprinter, friends recently bought it, so I'm just checking things out for their problem.  Will look at Victoria/Melbourne -apparently there's good serice and parts availability down there.\
Cheers, Mike

Delete all reference - this has been resolved! This particular thread could be wiped if convenient...

If I owned this sprinter I would look at joining the Sprinter Europe Website
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w901-905-sprinter/
and /or
The Australian Sprinter Forum which is also attached to the US Sprinter Forum.

for parts and information, in particular the OZ/US forum has online videos as well as detailed DIY instruction of just about all aspects of Sprinters.

Hi, thanks for the note - my friends traded the sprinter (after some VERY expensive work on the fuel pump and radiatorno).  Thanks anyway.  Mike
